This is another "flash drive gem" only this time, it is not FOP. I have always had a special place in my heart for the Addams Family. I've seen every episode from various tv series, including the movies. I have a few of these stories as well that I will eventually get around to posting.
This is based off the song 'I Loved Her First' by Heartland
I own nothing.

Gomez stood in the doorway, peering in through the half opened door. There she was. His first born. The one who made him a father. His only daughter, staring at her reflection in the full length mirror, wearing her mother's wedding dress.
Morticia assisted with her hair. Taking it out of her childlike braids, which to Gomez was symbolic. His little girl was no longer a little girl. She was indeed a woman. He watched as Morticia brushed through Wednesday's hair. It was raven black like her mother's and fell in cascading waves down her back.
Gomez was not an openly emotional man. He had great control over his emotions and could suppress them much longer than others. But in this moment, he fought back a blurry sting in his eyes. After tonight, Wednesday would no longer bear the last name Addams.
"Gomez, the ceremony is about to start." Mama found Gomez standing in front of Wednesday's bedroom door.
"Ah yes." He pushed the door open all the way.
"Hello darling." Morticia acknowledged him with a smile.
He kissed her gently before turning his attention to his daughter. Wednesday looked at him solemnly through the reflection of the mirror.
"Wednesday, you look astounding." He fought to keep down the uprising emotions
"Thank you father."
Morticia walked over to the door to leave. She turned around and arched a finely groomed brow at her husband, know full well of his inner struggle.
"See you soon." She said in her velvety smooth voice. Then she was gone.
Gomez stood still staring at his daughter. How did this night come so quickly?
"Ah, my little Wednesday," he let out a silent chuckle to himself at that sentiment.
"Father," she turned to face him. Her face was void of expression.
Gomez looked away from her. He was losing this battle. His emotions were fighting harder than they ever have before. Midnight couldn't come fast enough. Suddenly an explosion was heard and shook the entire house. The sound of the old organ started to play. This was it.
Gomez took a deep steady breath and smiled up at his daughter. He walked over to the door and extended his arm for her to take hold.
"Father, my thorns." She nodded to the dresser that held her bouquet of thrones stems from her mother's garden.
"Ah, yes." Gomez retrieved the bouquet and gently handed it to Wednesday and the two made their way to the cemetery.
He walked her slowly down the aisle of the debris covered ground. A dull pain entered his heart when he saw Joel Glicker, the young man who stole his only daughter's heart, standing at the end of the cemetery with a wide toothy smile.
Joel was an odd being. He had a hard time adjusting to the Addams's way of life, and Gomez found him to be a little 'too normal' But it was evident that Joel loved Wednesday and Gomez wouldn't stand in the way of his little girls happiness.
But I loved her first. He challenged Joel in his mind, before they came to a complete stop in front of the beaming groom.
"Who gives this woman to this man?" The minister asked.
Gomez hesitated briefly and peered at his wife from the corner of his eye. She gently nodded for him to let Wednesday go.
"Her mother and," he swallowed hard "I"
Joel extended his hand to take Wednesday's. Gomez took Wednesday's hand and placed it inside Joel's. He looked at Joel and his guard fell slightly. He reluctantly let go of Wednesday's hand and slowly stepped back, keeping his eyes on the boy who stole his daughter.
I held her first. Gomez goaded in his mind at the young man.
He took his seat next to Morticia in the front row. She laced her fingers through his and squeezed his hand in comfort. She read him so well. Gomez tried to listen as Joel spoke so fondly of Wednesday. His nervous ramblings were amusing to everyone else. But Gomez didn't care. His thoughts were some place else.
The wailing cry of a baby rang through the hospital halls.
"It's a girl!" The doctor said, holding the baby up for Gomez to see. He smiled down at his wife and kissed her.
"Our little girl." Gomez coo'd as the doctor wrapped the baby in a blanket and handed her to Gomez. "She has your eyes." He said as he lowered the baby to Morticia.
"What shall we call her, my love?" Morticia asked
"How about Wednesday, child of woes?" He beamed at his little girl
"Our little Wednesday."
"If anyone has any reason why these two should not be wed, speak now, or forever old your peace." The insisted looked around.
Morticia noticed Gomez's palm was clammy. She squeezed his hand again in reassurance.
"Very well," the minister proceeded. "by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you his and and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
Gomez's heart nearly stopped when Joel leaned into Wednesday's face. He wanted to jump out of his chair and stop this madness. A single silent tear leaked form the corner of his eye as the crowed stood and applauded.
I was enough for her not long ago. I was her number one. He yelled at Joel in his mind as he stood with the rest of the crowed, so no one would be suspicious of his losing emotional battle.
When the crowed retreated to the great hall, inside the Addams mansion, Gomez stayed behind, staring into the murky swamp, on the other side of the cemetery. Wednesday and Joel were about to follow the rest of the crowed, when Wednesday noticed her father staying behind.
"You go ahead." She said to Joel, who saw her looking at Gomez. He nodded and let go of her hand to leave her with her father.
"Father,"
Gomez was slightly startled by the soft voice of his daughter.
"Wednesday," she saw him run a hand over his face before turning to look at her with his usual, suave smile.
"Aren't you coming inside?" She asked in her monotone voice.
"Yes, I just needed to," suddenly Wednesday, uncharacteristically threw herself into his arms and hugged him tightly.
Taken off guard, but quickly regaining himself, Gomez gently and loosely wrapped his arms around Wednesday.
You will always have a place in my heart, my little Wednesday. He spoke to her through his mind.
Wednesday briskly pulled out of the embrace and blankly looked up at her smiling father. He stepped away from the swamp and held his arm out for her to take, so he could escort her inside to the reception.
