So I decided to write a one shot for Hal and Maggie. Natalie (my sister) I know you are probably reading this and I swear if you say anything about this to anyone I will personally hurt you. I do not own Falling Skies nor will I ever, on with the story.
Pairing: Hal/Maggie
Rating K+
So I was listening to The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra and I was like light bulb a dancing scene between Hal and Maggie about a week after she got her stitches. It's kind of like the scene from Harry Potter where Harry and Hermione are dancing together, but more romantic. So she was sitting by a little creek all depressed for some reason and Hal found an old tape recorder and this song was on it so he asks her to dance.
Hal's POV
There she is. Maggie was sitting by this little creek with her legs drawn up to her chest. She had a far away look on her face and a few tears were running down her cheeks. I wanted to make her happy, no I needed to make her happy again. So I hid the old tape recorder behind my back and I sat down next to her. "What are you doing out here, shouldn't you be with Karen?"
"I'm out here because my partner in crime is sad and I need to fix that." She looked at me. "Yeah? How do you intend to do that?" She asked. "Like this."
I turned on the tape and pulled her up. As the music started I heard her say "Seriously, dancing?" I nodded. "Yeah, come on, it will be fun." She sighed before placing her arms around my neck. I grabbed her waist and we swayed to the music.
Some day, when I'm awfully low,
When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight.
"So why dance with me out here when you could be spending your time with Karen?" I looked at her. "Because Karen used to be apart of my life, but now you are a part of my life. Have Karen back is all good and dandy, but you don't turn your back on someone just because someone new shows up." "Keep telling yourself that Hal and one day someone might believe it."
Yes you're lovely, with your smile so warm
And your cheeks so soft,
There is nothing for me but to love you,
And the way you look tonight.
"It's true I don't like Karen anymore, I haven't for awhile. It's just shocking that she survived all this time." She nodded. "So that explains why you keep staring at her like a kindergartener stares at a lollipop." I scoffed. "What, no I don't."
With each word your tenderness grows,
Tearing my fear apart
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose,
It touches my foolish heart.
"Yes, you do and you don't even realize it." I shook my head. "Let's just stop talking and just dance because in all honesty I love this song." She shook her head and I spun her. She couldn't stay quiet for long. "You really are great with denial aren't you?" What are you talking about?"
"You still like Karen." I shook my head. "No I do not; in fact I am completely enamored with someone else." She laughed. "Who would that be? Someone like Rita?" she teased "Let's not talk about it."
Lovely, never, ever change.
Keep that breathless charm.
Won't you please arrange it? 'Cause I love you
Just the way you look tonight
I dipped her and spun her again.
And that laugh that wrinkles your nose
It touches my foolish heart
I pulled her closer to me. "You know the girl I was talking about?" She nodded
Lovely ... Don't you ever change
Keep that breathless charm
Won't you please arrange it? 'Cause I love you
a-just the way you look tonight
I leaned down and whispered into her ear. "It's you."
Mm, Mm, Mm, Mm,
Just the way you look tonight
I kissed her. I put everything I had into the kiss and when we pulled away for air she spoke. "I love you too, Hal."
THE END
I hope you enjoyed it. Please review it makes my day. Bye.
