Mr. Mario "Jumpman" Video lived in New Donk City with his lovely wife Lady Pauline (she may have been of nobility once upon a time). They have been married for only two year when they became parents of twin boys named "Mario" and "Luigi" in 1960. As much as Jumpman loved his small family, he felt jaded a year later. He needed a change in his life. Being only a carpenter should have been enough. But what he desired was something spontaneous. So, the curios decided to work as an animal training to Lady's angst, of course.

Nevertheless, Jumpman was ambitious and got his first pupil. An ape named Donkey Kong. Thanks to the pressure of being the best, Jumpan's tough love had pushed the poor primate too hard. As a result, Donkey had eventually kidnapped Lady out of vengeance. Thankfully, since Jumpman was a great jumper, he had managed to rescue his wife. Still, this incident had left a horrid dent on Jumpman's reputation as a trainer.

This had affected him greatly. So much so, that he went over the edge and had Donkey and his son, Jr., separated as punishment for the humiliation. Yet, the baby ape would not allow it. And after much obstacles, Jr. had managed to reunite and free his father. Accidentally killing Jumpman in the process and leaving Mario and Luigi father along with having Lady become a widower with another baby on the way. That baby would be a little girl born on October 27th, 1962 with the name Pauline.

Growing up the Mario siblings would enjoy their childhood at New Donk where they would become quite successful in their careers as adults. The brothers would start a plumbing business (along with dating two gorgeous princesses) while Pauline working to become mayor of the city. Lady couldn't be prouder of her babies. Yet, she and her children would still have a polarizing relationship with the apes. Lady and Luigi would fear them. Pauline would try to be friendly. Mario would just be indifferent. Thankfully, as Donkey III would spend time with the family, it seems that the past has been left behind. Hopefully.
