Disclaimer: Yeah, you know, I don't own any of this except the plot. Everything else belongs to the goddess J.K. Rowling.
A/N: This is just a bit of fluff I wrote a long time ago. It's also my first attempt at Gin/Draco. I haven't written anything in a long time and I can't get around to finishing my other stories. (L/J) So I figure a one shot would be good. (I tried posting this last night but it ended up looking like one giant paragraph. I'm having major troubles with this posting stuff.)
Thanks Hobbie for convincing me to post this!
On The Way Down:
Draco turned around and glared at Ginny.
"Do you really think I'm that dense?" he asked.
"No, just come over here. It's a pretty view."
The pair of them were standing outside on the Hogwarts grounds in only their school robes. A couple snowflakes sprinkled down and caught on to Ginny's eyelashes. She cocked her head to one side letting her hair fall over her innocent brown eyes. Draco eyed her warily.
"How do I know that you won't stab me with an icicle?" he gestured up to the dangerous looking spikes hanging near Ginny.
"Don't be silly. Really, why would I do that?" she yanked an icicle off and started crunching on it. "It tastes good. Want a bite?"
Draco looked at her as if worrying for her sanity and slowly started to edge away. "No thanks, I'll just go over here." He gestured to a huge fir tree topped with whip cream. Ginny followed him under the branches. Draco eyed a low branch with a rather mischievous look.
"What are you thinking?"
"I can make it snow more if you like," said Draco grinning so broadly that a dimple appeared on his face.
Ginny looked at him quizzically but before she could answer or study his dimple he gave the branch a quick yank and raced a way from the tree. The snow slipped off the pine needles like an avalanche and soon the snow covered Ginny in a mound.
"You evil person," she shrieked. Ginny stumbled out of her snow pile and made her way to Draco who was doubling over from hysterical laughter. He finally stopped and swept the fringes of his pale blonde hair from his eyes. He reached over and affectionately brushed off the remaining snow off her hair.
"That was a very mean thing to do," Ginny said coldly and brushed past him in her soaked school robes. Draco's stormy gray eyes followed her progress a bit. Ginny suddenly shrieked again and disappeared from view. Apparently she had tripped on the snow-soaked hem of her robes and tumbled down a hill.
That klutz.
"Ginny! Where are you?" Draco called frantically while sliding down the hill. His heart was thumping wildly but he found that his mind was rather clear. 'Maybe I hit my head.' He found her lying at the bottom and oddly still. He rushed over to her.
"Ginny, wake up. Are you all right? I didn't mean to…"
There was still no response from the pale silent girl. He brushed away the auburn hair that had been splayed across her angelic face. Draco waited a moment half hoping that those dark lashes would flutter open.
"Ginny," he said urgently, "please don't die on me, I'll get you to Madame Pomfrey. And well, how do I say this? I-I never told you that I, I like you a lot." He paused and rumpled his hair in frustration.
"I lov-"
And before he could react Ginny reached up, grabbed his tie, and yanked him down to her so that he collapsed on top of her. She brushed her soft lips against his in a sweet gentle kiss.
"I love you too, Draco."
Ahh…I hoped you all liked it. And if you do, I'd appreciate it if you would review! Any suggestions are also greatly appreciated!
