Hey everyone! This is NOT my first time writing a story; however, it IS my first time writing a fanfic. Please do be respectful, feedback is nice; just don't go trollin' me, please. ;A;

"Hic… Hic…. Uuuu…" The sound of crying softly resounded within the room of the small apartment. Creak… Click… Slam…

"Oi, Haku, I'm home." A man's voice called for her in a rough, yet strangely gentle tone.

"Uuu…" Her tiny voice squeaked, followed by a string of sniffles and small sobs.

"Ah, god dammit, Haku." Dell grumbled angrily as he stumbled upon his drunk, female counterpart. Dell lightly flicked Haku on the back of her head, getting her attention in an instant.

"D-Dell…?" Haku lifted her head from the table; her eyes began to focus on the figure before her.

"Yes, Haku. It's me. You reek of alcohol. AGAIN." His eyes narrowed in disappointment. "I thought you god over this inferiority complex of yours. You're no longer just a 'failed' version of HER. You NEVER were, Haku." Dell bit his lip from trying not to say anything more to the sensitive Haku.

"I-I know… I-It's just…" Haku whimpered quietly, she hid her face in her knees and cried softly again.

"Ah, Haku." Dell sighed, rather than becoming angry, he began to feel more exhausted. He crept over to Haku and plopped down next to her. "What happened?"

"I-I was dropped from a song… Th-they said that I wasn't pretty or enthusiastic so th-they couldn't stand it anymore…" Haku refused to life her head from the shame and embarrassment she felt. "M-Maybe if I were a little bit like Miku-

"Haku, listen to me, you ARE NOT Miku, you will NEVER be Miku." Dell growled with anger.

"I-I…!" Haku began to cry a little louder, the words stung her like salt on an open wound. She wasn't 'perfect' like Miku, she couldn't be Miku, no matter how hard she tried.

"Haku, you are you. You are not me, you are not Miku, you aren't a failure, you are just you, Haku. That's what I love about you most. Sure, you aren't perfect, but then, who is?" Dell mumbled the words quietly, the words that only Haku would hear, no one else.

"But Miku always…"

"Miku isn't perfect, Haku. Not everyone loves and adores her. Even Miku gets rejected from songs because her voice is too high pitched or young-sounding in a mature song. Those songs are the songs you love to sing, remember?" Dell felt weird. This conversation was not the average conversation he would have with Haku. In fact, he almost never spoke this way to her. Yet, why did it feel so different today…? He had felt that if he reacted any differently, something would have gone wrong between himself and her.

"I-Is this true…?" Haku's self-esteem seemed to have risen a little more.

"Yes, Haku. It may be hard to believe for you, but there are times where even those who many love, fail. Besides, to me, you're greater than Miku." Dell said the words extremely quietly, hoping that Haku wouldn't hear.

"Dell…" Haku had heard him, and for once, Haku had the biggest smile on her face. She hugged Dell closely, tears streaming down her face, tears that were not from sadness, but from joy.

"Alright, alright, enough with the hugging." Dell coughed awkwardly, he tried to refrain from smiling, but failed. He sighed and gently lifted his arms to Haku's back and held it there. 'I won't let go…' We the soft, quiet words that echoed through his mind at that exact moment.
