Chapter 1
The Winchesters have partaken in many adventures, and so have I of course. I have been with them for as long as I can remember. Their world is all I know. I have stuck with them through it all. Through the anger, the heartache, the danger; but also the laughs, the impossible feats that somehow became possible, even the happy endings. I remember it all. I love those boys, more than they know. Those silly boys who never expect anything in return. They protect and save people they have never met, sacrificed themselves more times than I can count. Rarely do they get a thank you, but yet they carry on; saving people, hunting things, the family business. My name is Alison (but you can call me Ali) Mary Winchester, and I hope you are ready for the hunt.
Alison glanced out the window; thinking to herself that they should be about halfway through Indiana by now. Cas caught wind of a case that has all the signs of a Wendigo at large up in Minnesota. Haven't dealt with one of those in years. Sam is snoring faintly in the passenger seat and Dean is humming along to one of his ridiculously old cassette tapes. Ali helped Sammy look once but they never could find his iPod dock. She looks to the left and watches as Cas mumbles incoherently in his sleep. She's still not use to him needing sleep. A lot has changed since they fell. Dean catches her eye as he looks at her from the rearview mirror, a content smirk on his lips. He gives her a smile and his signature wink; it's always Ali who stays awake with him when the other two drift off. She leans forward and rests her chin on his shoulder, leaning her forehead against his cheek; she rolls her eyes but gives him a quick peck on the cheek. It has been rough. There is no denying that. The trials. Nearly loosing Sammy all over again and feeling absolutely useless when he swore he was the only one who could complete the trials. Dean was so scared; Sam was so selfless, that is what hurt the most. Then there was Metatron… And Abaddon.
Miles and hours pass before Dean pulls into a sleepy little town and stops the impala in the parking lot of a rundown gas station for some fuel. Coffee for him, gas for his baby. Sam heads over to a café across the street that boasts "free wifi" on a sign posted in the window, he's probably going to check for new "weird deaths" and "missing people cases" reported in Minnesota. It's just Ali and Cas now. "Ali, you know what I miss most about being an angel?" Cas asks, a glimmer of hurt in his eyes. "The ability to eat anything and never gain a pound?" she responds trying to coerce a smile out of him. He gives her a small smile, not the same smile he had before. "Not what I had in mind but I suppose that would be another reason." He pauses for a moment; pensive blue eyes reflect in the suns warm glow as he looks toward the mountainous backdrop. "I miss my wings." He murmurs. "Cas… I know it may seem like a lost cause, but we will find a solution to this whole mess. Okay? We just have to lay low for a while… I'll be damned if a bastard like Metatron has the final say… Literally and figuratively!" she assured, resting her hand on his shoulder. "They didn't have pie." Interjects Dean sullenly as he makes his way back to the car. "Where'd Sammy go?"
