A/N- We've all heard it before, "No one wins the Hunger Games". This apt phrase is so oft repeated that it's become cliche. I wanted to try to take this phrase and present it in a new way, that felt less predictable. Tell me whether or not you think I got it right. (Sorry about the weird break between the stanzas. FF won't allow page breaks. Also, if you somehow came to the conclusion that I own the Hunger Games you need to go back to grade school.)

Where are the victors?

I don't see any here.

All I see's a frightened child,

Whose eyes are filled with tears.

Please show me the winners,

Because I've yet to meet them.

All I see's a broken boy,

Who has lost all his friends.

I haven't met your champions,

The ones you hail are small.

You brag their deeds but I can see,

They feel no pride at all.

Where have the successful gone?

Has the morphling slipped them away?

Or are these the so-called successful?

That can't be the truth, I pray.

The conquerors of which you speak,

Are still unknown to me.

These guilty, mourning young ones,

Conquerors they cannot be.

Why can't you show me triumph?

I'm only finding pain.

I guess there are no true winners,

When it comes to the Hunger Games.
