KhAndTwilightFan15:Hello my Awesome readers! *gets glared at* what? *sighs in frustration* I'm sorry I haven't been updating much ok! If you want an explanation read the beginning of my profile! Anyways I got into this new series by Mattel called Ever After High if you've never heard of it you should totally check it out! anyways on with the fic!
CrystalAngelHeart: Neither I nor KhAndTwilightFan15 own Kingdom Hearts or Ever After High! BTW I'm collabing with her on this story :)
The halls of Ever After High were quiet, as they always were whenever Raven Queen was around. Raven couldn't understand it. After all, no matter how hard she tried, no one would stick around whenever she was in the same room as them. It was the same thing every time: someone would shout "It's Raven Queen! Run!" or something to that effect, and everyone would clear out as fast as they could. Only few students who knew just how kind and sweet Raven was would stick around. One of those few was Madeline Hatter, who was walking at her side.
A few lockers in the hallway were left open, some papers scattered the floor, signs the usual rush of everyone wanting to get as far away from the next Evil Queen as they possibly could before she noticed them.
Raven sighed. She wished that everyone would stop running away from her or shutter at the very mentioning of her name. Just once she would like to basket in the feeling of being accepted and loved instead of resented and feared. Possibly even make some new friends despite being satisfied with the handful of fairy tales who did not cower away from her – if only she was given the chance that was likely to never come along.
This frustrated Raven. Just because she was the Evil Queen's daughter didn't mean she was evil like her. Didn't they remember that she was also the daughter of the Good King? Or did they focus so much on whom her mother was that they completely forgot about her father?
Out of the corner of her eye, Raven suddenly caught sight of the time on a nearby clock. Her violet eyes grew wide. Class had started!
"Maddie, please tell me that's the wrong time," She said, looking at her best friend forever after.
Maddie glanced at the clock then at her watch upon Raven's statement. She dropped the teacup she'd been holding, causing it to shatter when it hit the floor.
"Oh my teacups! We're late! We're very, very late!" Maddie smiled, producing another teacup out of thin air. It was already filled with tea and she took a sip. "Late for a tea party that is."
Raven rolled her eyes playfully, walking to class as quickly as she could. When she entered, all eyes turned to look at her – including Mr. Hubbard. Only his held a stern look, making Raven hang her head and slump down next to Kitty.
"Oh, hey Raven. So glad you could join us. We were all starting to think you were out creating new creatures to terrorize every single fairy tale," Kitty said with one of her signature smirks.
"What are you talking about?" Raven asked.
"You haven't heard? Well, that's an understatement. You wouldn't have heard it from anyone else since they run and hide from you." Kitty giggled. "There have been strange black creatures appearing in Book End."
"Wh-what?" Raven stammered in shock. The black creature thing sounded like something her mother would do. But she was in mirror prison with no hope of escape … unless someone with powerful magic helped her.
"Yeah. It's-" Kitty began.
"Miss Cheshire, is this thing you're talking about more important than my class?" Professor Hubbard interrupted her, irritation written in her voice.
"Maybe. We were talking about the black creatures that have been appearing in Book End." Kitty continued to smile.
"Yes, well, the Knights in Shining Armor are doing their best to take care of them. Which reminds me…" Professor Hubbard turned to address the class. She then said more sternly and clearly, "Headmaster Grimm has decreed that no one leave school campus until the creatures have all been eliminated. And this includes the Enchanted Forest."
"Thanks a lot, Raven Queen!" someone shouted immediately in response, the voice belonging to none other than Duchess Swan.
Raven didn't dare turn to look at Duchess. She was tempted to shout "I'm not the cause of it!" but it would only make things worse. Not many fairy tales would believe her anyway.
"You've no proof Raven did it! Don't make such accusations!" Cerise's voice shouted, surprising most of the class. Cerise preferred not to draw attention to herself, but Raven knew she was just sticking up for her since she was one of Raven's handful of friends. And Cerise always stood up for her friends.
"How do you know she hasn't done it?" Duchess countered.
"Because Raven's not like that! If anything, she'd use her magic to get rid of the creatures if she could!"
"Oh, how sweet. First Apple and now Cerise. How many fairy tales have you convinced into thinking you're nice, Raven?" Duchess glanced at the next Evil Queen, who continued to sit in silence though she was tempted to cast a hex on Duchess to shut her up, but that wouldn't help her cause.
Cerise was clearly ready to go and pluck Duchess' feathers for good measure then, as Raven saw when she glanced at her. But before Cerise could even take a step forward (since she'd stood up just after Duchess made her first comment), Professor Hubbard cleared her throat, earning the attention of the class once again.
"No more talking about the creatures." She ordered. "Instead, let's get back to the lesson."

A while later, the bell finally rung, signaling it was time for lunch. On her way, Kitty couldn't stop thinking about the black creatures. What were they exactly? Where did they come from? What did they want? How were they to be rid of them?
Her curiosity spiked with all these questions buzzing around in her head. She wanted to find out everything about these creatures, and she was determined to do just that. Nothing was going to stop her. Not even Headmaster Grimm's decree. But she would need a small team if she was to do that. A team that would be able to handle any situation should trouble arise.
Thinking up of potential candidates, Kitty giggled. She was about to disappear when she caught sight of a certain pink-haired myth that had came to Ever After High from some place called Monster High. That very myth was one of the people Kitty had in mind, so she came over.
"Hey, Cupid," She greeted casually.
Cupid turned her head to her.
"Hey, Kitty. What's up?" She asked.
"I was hoping you'd ask that." Kitty giggled mischievously. She stepped closer to Cupid, lifting up her hand to the side of her mouth as she whispered. "I'm going to investigate the creatures that have been appearing in Book End and I want you to be on the team I have in mind to help me. Regardless of Headmaster Grimm's decree. You in?"
Cupid didn't answer for a long moment. Before long, she finally answered.
"I guess. I've heard rumor these things steal people's hearts. Maybe they just need some love," She said while holding up her bow.
"Hexcellent!" Kitty exclaimed. She didn't have to worry about being heard since the Castleteria was alive with chatter. "Think you could help me out and tell everyone else I have in mind if you see them?"
Cupid nodded. Kitty told her everyone she'd thought about before she disappeared, leaving behind her signature smile.

An hour after curfew, the team in which Kitty assembled in her head earlier that afternoon gathered at the edge of the Enchanted Forest, ignoring the ominous storm clouds looming toward the school.
"So what's the plan, Kitty?" Raven asked.
"To find out as much of the black creatures as we can, duh," Kitty answered, smiling though Raven's question had irritated her. "Or how to get rid of them since there has been rumor that every time one of the Knights in Shining Armor takes one down, another appears." She leaned against the base of the tree behind her, her cat-like sleek blue eyes looking at every fairy tale that was there. "Everyone have what they need?"
Everyone nodded. Cupid held up her bow and arrow sac. Raven had a book of spells tucked under her arm, though she was likely not going to use it since she kept stating that her Evil Queen magic did not mix in well with good intentions. Maddie and Lizzie Hearts had their Wonderland magic. Dexter Charming had a sword strapped to his belt and carried a shield in one hand. Hunter, his trusty hunting knife, bow, and arrow, and Ashlynn Ella a crossbow she was borrowing from Hunter. Plus, her ability to understand animals would come in handy.
"Good. Let's get moving," Kitty said proudly.
After two hours of walking around the forest with no luck, Raven spoke up.
"Hey, guys, don't you think it's strange we haven't encountered or seen any of the black creatures yet?" She asked warily.
"What do you mean, Raven?" Dexter looked over at his crush, pushing his glasses higher up on his face.
"Think about it, Dex," Raven replied. "We haven't seen a single one of the creatures since we've been out here and we're almost to the heart of the forest."
"Raven's right. Something's up." Hunter agreed.
No sooner had those words left his mouth, something ran past them and into the shadows.
"After it!" Lizzie shouted as she ran ahead of the others.
"Lizzie, wait!" Raven called as she and the others quickly followed her.
They came to the heart of the forest, which was a vast clearing, where the figure vanished without a trace.
"Where'd it go?" Ashlynn asked, staying close to Hunter. Noticeable fear is written in her voice.

All of a sudden, as if to answer her question, everyone's shadows that were made by the full moon's light briefly peeking out through some holes in the thick dark clouds seemed to stretch out. They molded together on the ground before rising up to form a giant black monster. Its legs were rather short and feet were on the thin side, curled upward. Its arms, however, were long, and two relatively small, twisted wings stood out from its back. The creature's head was covered in dozens of twisted black tentacles with a pair of glowing bright yellow eyes visible behind the scarf-like appendage covering its mouth. But the most noticeable thing that stood out about the creature was the large, heart-shaped hole in its abdominal area that penetrated straight through from the front to the back.
Everyone's eyes went wide seeing the giant creature before them. Hunter was the quickest to recover and got a determined look in his eyes. He quickly drew his bow, took aim, and shot an arrow at one of the monster's eyes with Cupid and Ashlynn doing the same. Raven, to her own surprise, found herself opening her spell book and casting a spell before she even realized what she was doing. Dexter unsheathed his sword and attacked the monster's legs, trying to cut it down to size while Lizzie and Maddie took care of the smaller creatures it summoned for back up – Lizzie decapitating most of them.
The battle went on for a few long minutes until the creature finally fell, seeming to melt into a pool of black on the ground. The fairy tales were about to celebrate when the wind suddenly picked up and the storm clouds appeared to swallow up the moon, causing everything to go completely dark.
Raven cast a spell that resulted in a little ball of light to shine above her and her friends. Ashlynn screamed in terror when they saw they were surrounded by hundreds of black creatures, immediately latching onto Hunter's arm. And to make matters worse, the wind continued to pick up so violently that it began ripping trees up and out of the ground, roots and all, and carried them around in the air.
"What is that?!" Dexter suddenly asked.
Everyone looked up at the sky. A black and red spinning ball of darkness was sucking everything up – including the fairy tales themselves.
Raven quickly latched on to a large rock to prevent herself from being sucked in. She looked up to see if she could help any of her friends, she only saw Maddie clinging for dear life on a tree branch that was swept up into the air the next second.
"MADDIE!" She cried out, inadvertently letting go of her hold on the rock when she reached out to grab her best friend forever after, getting pulled up into the air herself.
Just as she was about to hit the spinning ball of darkness, she lost consciousness.
