Summary: The Reaper's thought's in Faith while he's taking Dean's life.
Author's Note: There this one clip in "Faith", when the Reaper is taking Dean's life, where the Reaper almost looks like he's trying to sooth Dean.
He stumbles back a step but forces himself to stop and face me. He does not run. Most who see me try to run. Of those who don't flee, most are too scared or too ignorant not to. There are few like this man, who let me approach, knowing what will happen if I get too close. He is a brave man.
I touch his cheek. He tenses, grimaces, shudders but does not pull away. My grip is strong. He could not escape even if he tried.
He's in pain. I'm forcing a tumor into his brain, causing him a massive headache. He'll die in pain and it is small consolation that his death will end the pain.
He falls to his knees, grimacing against the pain, forcing himself not to cry out. He's near tears. His head rests in my hand. His lips do blue. He's making small, pained whimpering noises.
I coo gently to him. It will all be over soon, I promise.
What lies beyond, I do not know, but I've heard it is nice. It hope he finds what he is looking for.
Suddenly, the hold that the witch has over me is gone. I drop my grasp on the man and he falls back gasping, color returning to his pale face.
He is free and so am I.
