A Town Where Nothing is What it Seems

Edward's POV

Bella and I were just helping Nessie pack her stuff for our move. This time we were headed for Gatlin, South Carolina. I was very well aware of the fact that this was Bella's first time to repeat high school all over again, since last time, just after our little 'conflict' with the Volturi, we went and studied at Dartmouth along with Bella, who wanted to finish high school before she started it all over again. This was also Nessie's first time to attend school, since we had home-schooled her for the last seven years.

"Daddy? What school are we going to go to?" Nessie asked me.

"Oh, we're going to attend Stonewall Jackson High, the public school there." I reply.

"Yes. And you're going to be a freshman." Bella said sweetly, smiling at her.

We finished packing and sent Nessie to go sleep. We were now in our room inside the cottage Esme had built. Bella was imprisoned in my arms and was sitting on my lap.

"Edward?" Bella asked.

"What is it, love?" I replied.

"I'm scared." She said.

I was confused. What is she scared of? She saw my expression.

"What if they try anything on us couples? Because I swear if they do I'll..." She growled.

I laughed. "Don't worry, love. I won't let anything happen I promise." I comforted her.

She reached up and kissed me passionately. We fell onto the bed, laughing. But the laughter didn't last long. We were soon kissing again. And I'm sure you know what happened next.
