Prologue

Our story begins 13 1/2 years ago when Emma Swan was only a mere 10 years old. It should be noted that at a mere 10 years old Emma's passions included in no particular order, her family, reading and hot chocolate with whip cream and cinnamon sprinkled on top.

"Now listen here and you listen good Emma Marie Swan, look at that flower in your hands." Granny said flatly. Emma looked down at the delicate white flower, the petals soft and smooth like silk.

Her grandma it should be told had only two passions, God and Emma...in that particular order.

"Notice how perfect it is. How pure. Now Emma dear, crumple it up!" Granny said with vehemence.

"Really, mother?" Emma's mother said from the bed, nail polish in hand.

"Shh, you hush it right now." Granny barked back.

"Really mother this is ridiculous." Emma's mother sasses back but continued applying a coat of polish to her toes.

Emma's mother Mary Margaret, her passions include Emma and singing...the order is not important.

"Crumple the flower, Emma." Emma did as she was told, crushing the delicate petals between her fingers.

"Good, now try to make it look new again."she finished.

Mary Margaret rolled her eyes at her mothers over the top lesson on virginity. Emma opened her fist and tried to smooth the now destroyed petals.

"Go on." Her granny urged.

Emma looked up, green eyes filled with sadness, "I can't." She said dejected.

"That's right!", her granny continued, "You can never go back. And that's what happens when you lose your VIRGINITY. You can never go back."

Mary Margaret tried and failed to suppress the groan as she rolled her eyes yet again. How many times had she heard this lecture.

Granny shot Mary Margaret a dirty look but continued none the less,"Never forget that, Emma,"

And Emma Swan never did.

A/N: I'm trying my hand at a Jane the Virgin meets Once Upon A Time, because I love them both! I'm changing things around just a bit but taking A LOT directly from the show. I do not own any of the characters or the concept I'm just taking them out for a ride.
