A/N: I do not own the Clique or the song Dark Side, by Kelly Clarkson.
I love the song Dark Side by Kelly Clarkson, and I needed to do a one-shot about it. I will explain the story a little more at the end, because it kind of starts in the middle of a fight. Also to mention that this isn't really a songfic, because I only used two verses of, "Dark Side" and the other two bold verses you come across are apart of a poem that I wrote. I felt as though they added to the emphasis to the "dark side" theme. I couldn't even fathom writing a songfic, because I'm more into the writing now than songfic versions...if that makes sense?
Thanks for reading,
Halo.
Title: Dark Side
There's a place that I know
It's not pretty there and few have ever gone
If I show it to you now
Will it make you run away
"Why can't you just open up and tell me what's wrong?" He asked as his voice escalated, because she has pushed him to his limit, but she refused to be honest.
"Because, you won't care...no one ever cares." She cried; it was desperate but it was her last defense.
She hated to admit that he has broken down all those walls, and replaced them with a world wind of emotions. He has shown her love, anger, jealously, but more than that he has showed her how to be unselfish.
"I love you, but I just wish, you could be real with me." He sighed frustrated, and feed up with constantly playing this game. How much more could he do? She won't let him in, so he can't save her.
The world became too dark,
"Please, can't we just love each other without having to know everything?" She begged, for him to let it go. Why did he need to know her dark side? She is not proud of the person, she has to be in public, but that is how society works.
"Why can't you let me in? Don't you love me?" He questioned, her sincerity with their relationship. Why can't she break down and cry? She always acts so strong, but deep down she is weak.
The heart soon lost it's spark,
"Of course, I love you. How can you ask me that question?" She said shocked, by his stupidity of the matter.
"I can't keep playing this game." He said, and it has become clear that there won't be a winner.
"Okay, well then I guess, I can't stop you," She said, holding back the tears from falling. She can't let him fall for someone who doesn't have a heart anymore. "Goodbye, Derrick."
"One last question, when did your heart lose it's spark?" He asked staring into her amber eyes, that we swirling with emotions.
"Two years ago, when you left me for my best friend." She said coldly, because her heart will never forget the damage he caused her.
Everybody's Got a Dark Side.
So basically I felt this was a very fitting song if Massie and Derrick ever got back together, because she would feel as though she couldn't trust him in order for her to open up to him. However Derrick doesn't see why she can't be real with him, because they love one another. It is meant to reveal that sometimes we can't get over the past mistakes, and that we all have a dark side. Let me know your thoughts or if you have any questions still left, okay? Thanks!
