(A/N) Ok, so, I made this up out of boredom the other night. Originally, the little girl's name was Angel, but I decided to put it up on and change her name to Katara. I have never done a Kya and Katara fic before so this is new.

"But mama," the little girl whined, "I don't want to go to bed yet."
The mother just laughed, shaking her head. Outside, the night was cold; it was almost 9:00 P.M. Past her daughter's bedtime and she still couldn't manage to get her to go to bed.
"You need to go to bed now," her mother answered.
"But," the girl started, "what if the monsters get me?"
"I won't let that happen," the mother said. Sometimes, her daughter could be so stubborn. It was easier putting her fussy, hungry son to bed, but her sweet, loving daughter? That was another story.
"But it's still dark," the girl complained, "and how do I know you aren't lying?"
The mother laughed again. It was just like her daughter to get proof of everything.
"I am your guardian angel," he mother replied, "and I will always love you."
"Really, mama?" the girl questioned.
Her mother kissed her on the head and stood up.
"Really, Katara."
