Hey guys!
So, you must kind of hate me. I haven't updated in any form for a while…sorry about that!
To compensate for my lack of updates, here's the VERY SHORT prologue to Milk and Cookies. Bear with me; this was written in about twenty minutes, including editing and ideas.
The real thing will be a lot better and longer…I hope!
Prologue
She gives him a confused glance. The confusion fades to anger.
"Give. Me. Back. My. Cookie."
"No."
It's at that very moment that three things happen. She dives across the table, he darts backwards, and they both fall in love.
Was that meant to happen?
The short, snappy, pink-haired girl sits up, rubbing her head with both of her chubby hands. She then clocks the destruction that is pooled around them. Broken glass, milk stains, cookie crumbs and an over-turned table. There is no way I can blame this on the dog.
He looks up at her. He's on his back, propping himself up on his forearms. She's knelt half an inch from his toes, arms folded, a glare on her face.
"Why did you do that?" he asks quietly. Slowly, and without recognition, tears fall down his round, pale cheeks. "Look."
He points to his bare knee. Just below the end of his shorts, blood seeps through the skin. Her emerald eyes widen. "Sorry… I didn't mean to, I just…"
His gaze is on her, now. She looks down at her lap, her own eyes filling with hot tears.
"I just wanted the stupid cookie."
His hand reaches towards her, faced up. In his open palm, is the broken remains of a chocolate chip cookie.
