"Firs' years! Firs' years o'er here!" Hagrid waved his arm in a gesture towards himself, visible above all the students as he was so tall.

"Oi, Gred, over there," George nudged Fred's shoulder, and the two walked over to Hagrid.

"You're Hagrid, aren't you?" Fred asked rather tactlessly. "My brothers told me about you."

Hagrid raised his eyebrows, but grinned as well. "An' you two are those Weasley twins. Yer brother Charlie told me 'bout yeh. Quite the trouble-makers, if I remember."

The two twins smirked in unison, looking more identical than ever, and introduced each other. "This is Fred—" George started, and Fred finished with, "—and this is George."

"Nice ter meet yeh," Hagrid said gruffly. He then raised his voice and called for all of the first years' attention. "You lot, firs' years, follow me to the boats!"

Hagrid turned and led the group of skittish first years down a slippery path. It had rained very hard the night before in Hogsmeade and the ground was saturated. Fred trailed right behind Hagrid, George at his left shoulder. He was shocked at how tall the giant man was—maybe twice as tall as his dad. George, who seemed to have sensed what Fred was thinking, spoke to Hagrid.

"So, why are you so tall?"

Hagrid didn't look at them, nor did he answer. He just grunted and nodded his head towards where the path curved out of the trees onto what appeared to be a rocky shoreline. "Yeh'll be able ter see Hogwarts in a mo'. It's just 'round that bend."

The group walked a few more yards until they reached the shoreline, where probably twenty or so little boats bobbed in the choppy water. Across the enormously vast lake there was a cliff, on which stood a mighty castle. It was huge, bigger than huge, with many towers and turrets and glittering windows. Made of stone, it looked ancient and yet was in excellent condition, highlighted in the nearly full moonlight. Many of the first years let out loud gasps at the sight.

And Fred, for probably the first time in his life, was completely speechless.

This is my first story on this site. :) Just a little drabble, but I'm pretty proud of it. I hope the grammar wasn't horrible, that's not my strong point. Please review, but be kind if you do.
