I don't know about anyone else, but I seriously thought Cal was hinting to Ethan that he wanted to move in with him.

Also, thank you to everyone who's reviewed my stories, I will start replying to you all this weekend. x

"I love your new crib," Cal announced as they left the ED, "Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's all unpacked."

"Cribs are for children," Ethan deadpanned in response, "I'd hesitate to even call it a pad – it's an apartment."

"Yeah, whatever," Cal really wasn't concerned over all that, he wasn't as pedantic as his baby brother, "And, er… two bedrooms, eh?"

"Yes. I'm going to turn the second one into a home office." Typical of Ethan: more work.

They ceased their walking pace for a moment, a few feet from their waiting taxi.

"Well, I would turn it into a games room, but that's just me." Typical of Caleb: more fun.

"Yeah, did you tell everybody what I found out?" Ethan asked as Cal opened the door, "Did Mrs Beauchamp get the public health team?"

"Yeah, yeah – we're all good," Cal announced, knowing Ethan had figured out that he had taken the credit solely upon himself before he got into the cab, "I'm pretty sure we saved a patient's life today." Caleb continued before following suit.

"Good evening." Ethan greeted to the driver: typical of Ethan to be well mannered.

Cal shut the door as he sat down, immediately switching back to the conversation he had originally started.

"Your new local looks pretty cool," Ethan looked at him as he grabbed his seatbelt, with a face Cal knew was not a happy one, more like a slightly exasperated and confused one, yet at the same time, one full of knowledge as to what Cal was trying to hint at, "How about we go for a pint?" Cal suggested: typical of Caleb to want to go out drinking.

"OK." Ethan breathed.

"Cool. I'll crash at yours tonight, yeah?" Cal pretty much established as he slung his bag over his head and placed it onto the floor before grabbing his seatbelt.

Ethan sighed, not seeing the full extent of Cal's ideas, but having a good inclination as to what they could be.

A pint turned into two for Cal, which then turned into three (well, he only drunk half of it before Ethan tore him away), the ongoing cycle eventually there as the brothers returned back to Ethan's new flat.

"Night Ethan!" Cal called through the walls from the living room. Ethan exhaled.

"Night Cal." He responded before shutting his eyes and allowing himself to fall under the influence of sleep.

"Ethan?" The tell-tale noise of the light switch clicking was sufficient enough to make Ethan aware that Cal had turned the light on. So he left his eyes shut.

"Yes?"

"I just wanted to check you were alright."

"Fine."

"Good." Clicking once again informed Ethan that the light switch was off and so only then did he blink his eyes open, sighing a breath mixed of relief and frustration, Ethan attempted to force himself to forget Cal's presence and pretend he was on his own. He'd lived with Cal long enough as a child to know how irritating he could be and how could Ethan forget Cal's short stay with him after their mother died.

"Ethan!"

Ethan heaved a sigh, "What?"

"Can I borrow your laptop?"

And so, the first long night of many began.

This is up so much later than I planned, but my week ended up being really busy again. Anyway, it's half term now, so I'm hoping to get a good portion of the chapters written for my multi-chaptered story, so I can start uploading those and of course they'll be more one-shots for these two still.
