Prompt: Sunset
The sun was setting by the time detention ended and Becky spent another half an hour making sure that all of the students were out of the building. There was no way she would ever hear the end of it from Bruce if kids got caught making out or heaven forbid touching any of his stuff.
When the last one was out, she headed back to the classroom for her stuff, hoping Tim was still around. It was a Saturday night, and she thought maybe she could casually mention how hungry she was and give him the perfect lead in to ask her for dinner.
It was so perfect it was like a movie.
iThe Breakfast Club Part 2: Teachers in Love/i
"Hey, Tim," she started as she walked into the classroom, "Why don't we…" she trailed off as she looked around.
No Tim. Not anything to even suggest he was returning. Sighing deeply she grabbed her purse and her book and, after locking the door behind her, she headed for the exit.
A second later, she heard something and it made her stop. She opened her purse, preparing to call for help from the possible serial killer when someone grabbed her arm and pulling her into the closet, "I HAVE MACE!" she screamed.
"Becky, it's me," Tim said, "and you do not have mace."
"How do you know that?" she said, then smacked his arm, "And why did you scare me?"
"I know that because you're far too nice to mace anyone…and I'm sorry I scared you."
She shrugged, smiling up at him. When he'd pulled her in, she'd ended up pressed against his body, which was a nice place to be, "So why are we in here?"
Why the heck was she even asking? Who cared why when he smelled this good?
"Well, I was thinking that there was one part of iThe Breakfast Club/i that we missed re-enacting?"
"Oh yeah, what's that? The redundant makeover scene."
"No," he said, smiling at her, "The end of the movie kissing scene accompanied by loud 80s music."
Her breath hitched, unsure if he was really saying what she thought he saying. Then she heard it. He held his IPOD up, which was blasting "Don't You Forget about Me" through the headphones.
She smiled, "Wouldn't want to forget that?"
"No," he said, leaning in and kissing her softly, "Wouldn't want to do that."
"We might even have to do it several times, you know, to make sure we get it just right."
"Movies do tend to have a lot of takes that are cut."
She nodded, wrapping her arms around his neck, "Well let's keep doing it until we get it right." Then she kissed him again and nothing else was said for a long time.
Saturday Detention was the best thing ever.
