Hopper had been told that El should be hidden for around a year. Well, it had been two years since the debacle with the mind flayer and El, who was known to most as Jane Hopper, was attending high school like a normal teen.

But she was far from safe. The bad men still wanted their experiment back. So, Hopper had a plan set up. And though he didn't love it, Mike Wheeler was a huge part of that plan. Basically, if the bad men would ever track El down, Mike would take her and run to where nobody knows them and lay low until it was safe again.

Hopper just never thought that they would have to go through with the plan. Mike was over at the cabin, helping El with a science paper. They were coming.

"Alright kids. Remember the plan we talked about?" Hopper said, rushing

Mike and El nodded with grim looks on their faces.

"Well, it's time to put that plan into action."

As Mike rushed to get the backpacks filled with supplies, money, and clothes for the trip, El and Hopper said their goodbyes.

"I'm gonna miss you kid." Hopper whispered with tears in his eyes.

"I'm gonna miss you too dad."

"Stay safe, don't be stupid, and make sure that Wheeler boy stays in line. I love you El"

"I will. I love you too dad."

Hopper turned and saw Mike, holding two backpacks and El's coat.

"Take care of my daughter will you, Wheeler?" Hopper said, wiping the tears from his eyes

"Yes sir. We should be going."

As El looked back at the cabin once she was situated on Mike's bike, she saw Hopper wave one last time before they disappeared into the trees.

After nearly half an hour of biking, they had reached the bus stop. The next bus was scheduled two arrive three minutes later and was heading to Chicago. So, hand in hand, the two teens boarded the bus that would take them to their new life
