Prompt: Hopeful
She didn't want to be hopeful about it. She wasn't exactly young anymore after all and the chances of it happening were slim.
Of course, even as she told herself not to get excited, even as she tried to ignore the stick in front of her and the timer next to it her mind traveled to thoughts of tiny pink blankets, spinning mobiles, and thousands of stuffed animals.
She could be pregnant. Right now, she could have Mac's baby inside her. She could be less than nine months away from being a mother.
But she wasn't getting her hopes up, she just wasn't.
She jumped as the timer went off and headed toward the bathroom sink and that little tiny strip of plastic that would tell her if her life was going to change.
She took a deep breath and reached for the stick, and hoped it would tell her what she wanted to hear.
A moment later, she covered her mouth, tears coming to her eyes as she clutched the pregnancy test.
She was going to be a mom.
