First Thing…

Jess eyed the disheveled, dirty pair curiously in the rearview mirror. Aside from cheering when they'd realized they were in the twenty-first century, and then again when they'd seen Becker, the two hadn't said much. Well, the woman hadn't, the man, Connor, she'd heard him be called, had said sorry for shoving her out of the way to fix the anomaly locker after they'd come through. She'd shrugged it off, damn thing was always breaking on her anyways, and just followed along with Becker when he'd ordered guards around the anomaly and led her and the travelers to the car. She wasn't even supposed to have left the ARC, really, so she was glad to let the soldiers take over the anomaly and keep it under control.

Becker had tried to get a few words out of the pair at the beginning of the drive, but the two only gave brief answers. Becker hadn't pushed it, Jess would have asked why, but she figured he was just waiting for their debriefing. If they were who she thought they were, twelve months was going to take a long time to talk about.

A couple miles before they arrived at the ARC, the woman said suddenly, "Banana milkshake."

Jess quirked an eyebrow at that but was stopped from asking about it when Connor replied to her. "Pizza."

The blonde smiled at him. "Croissants."

"Curry."

"Frozen yogurt."

The man smiled widely. "Bacon."

They continued on like that for several minutes, each one taking turns to name out different foods or drinks. As they went through the gates for the ARC, Jess gave Becker a look of confusion. He only smiled knowingly at her confusion as he parked the car and they got out, obviously knowing what they were talking about. Connor and the woman got out too, now naming things like 'shower' or 'shampoo' instead of food. Finally, as Becker held the door open for the two to go through first, Jess said softly. "I don't get it."

Becker smiled as he pulled the door behind him. "Things they can't wait to have."

As Jess turned back to the hall she found the two smiling at each other happily as they stood waiting for her and Becker; their hands intertwined and their bodies' real close. Personal space was all but disappearing between them as Connor reached up to tuck a piece of the woman's hair behind her ear.

Becker cleared his throat and the blonde smirked at Connor as he stepped back and slid his hands into his pockets almost sheepishly. He began to walk down the hall, his companion at his side, and Jess whispered to Becker, "I'm guessing condoms are on that list as well."

Becker merely looked down at Jess and smiled.

A/N: I'm kind of new to Primeval, and I know there's a lot of "Connor and Abby come home" stories out there, but this just popped into my head. It's just something fun I thought I'd write. Hope you liked it; feel free to review.

THANKS!
