Prologue
A small girl of no more than five or six years of age lay whimpering in her bed. Her frail body was covered with cuts and bruises, many of which were still bleeding. She had just managed to get home after another viscous beating from the people of her village. They hated her, because of what she had trapped deep within herself. Though she didn't understand why, for deep within herself she had a five tailed albino saber-tooth demon, named Kanna who had been nothing but nice to her.
'I'm sorry Rei-chan this is all my fault' Kanna's voice comes from deep within the girl's mind, and to Rei it's almost like a hug.
"It's okay" Rei whimpers softly "I have you to make the hurt go away" and this was true because every night after the beatings, Kanna always managed to heal every single injury Rei sustained from the attacks.
"Kanna, tell me a story" Rei asks, because she wants needs something anything to take her mind off of the pain that she's in, both the physical and emotional pain is almost to much for her to bare.
'Alright' Kanna agrees as she begins to heal all of Rei's wounds
'Once a upon a time there was a beautiful saber-tooth demon who fell deeply in love with a nine tailed fox demon; his name was Kyuubi. They both loved each other dearly and spent every waking moment together. One day Kyuubi asked the saber-tooth demon to be his mate, and this made her so happy, she eagerly accepted. It was then that they decided to consummate their relationship'
"What does that consummate thing mean" Rei asks curiously"
'…' Kanna stays silent for a long moment 'Do you want to hear a story or not, because I can't tell it if you keep interrupting me' Kanna snaps angrily.
"Sorry" Rei sighs softly
'The saber-tooth demon was pregnant soon after that, and she was so happy because she couldn't wait to give birth to Kyuubi's kits. And soon she did give birth to nine beautiful kits, neither of them could ever remember being so happy. That is until one day the humans in a nearby village decided to take it upon them selves to murder their children'
"All of them" Rei whimpered softly tears welling in her eyes
'All of them' Kanna clarifies
"So then what happened" Rei asks a tinge of excitement mixed in with her sadness and fear
'Then the two demons became so blind with rage they attacked to village in a ferocious display of power. They managed to do a lot of damage, before the leader of this village sealed them both away into the bodies of two newborn babies'
"That's not fear" Rei cries angrily
'I know' Kanna says softly 'But life isn't fair'
"You weren't doing anything wrong, how dare they take your children away. How can they be so cruel" Rei is outraged so mush so that a bit of Kanna's chakra is beginning to leak out.
'Calm yourself young one' Kanna says in a soothing purr in an attempt to pacify her host's anger.
It works for the most part because Rei is no longer yelling, but still Kanna can feel the young girl fuming.
'Sleep now little one, so that I can heal some of your deeper wounds' Kanna instructs and although Rei really doesn't want to her own exhaustion is slowly creeping up on her.
"Hey Kanna" Rei call out just before she falls asleep "I promise I'll give you a baby if it's the last thing I do" and with that Rei is out like a light.
Although Rei doesn't realize the true gravity behind her words, the sincerity of her words is enough to make her feel much better.
