Agent Teagan Meyer sat in a moderately dim and small meeting room. She twiddled her thumbs and glanced around the silent room. Things have been pretty busy since the Battle of New York. She was tasked with helping the cleanup of the streets that were ravaged by the alien attack and to make sure that none of the public found any alien technology. Except that one incident, everything went off without a hitch. Now she sat in an empty room with no clue of what's going on.

The solid door opened and Maria Hill walked in. Meyer automatically stood up. "Sit down Agent Meyer." Hill told her. Meyer sat down. Hill carried a file in her hands that had Meyer's name on it. "What does S.H.I.E.L.D. stand for?"

"Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division." Meyer replied. It might be a mouthful but she's got that committed to memory.

"And what does that mean to you?"

"It means protect the people from Earth from themselves and weird wonders of the universe. We protect them from what they don't need to know." Meyer answered. It was true, humans are usually their own worst enemy- having access to stuff they're definitely not ready for and knowing secrets they shouldn't.

"Are you aware of what happened to Agent Coulson?"

"He took an Asgardian sceptre through the heart. I read the report a few times just to get my head around it." Meyer said. Her mood dwindled a little, "Shame he's gone. He was a great guy and agent." Hill nodded. "So why am I here?"

"I've done an assessment on you- how you cope in the field, people skills, combat and espionage- always consistently high. Nice work." Hill said.

Meyer smiled proudly, "Thanks."

"No problem, now you're clearance Level 7, correct?" Meyer nodded. "Then you have access to more information regarding certain ops?" Meyer nodded again. What was Hill talking about? "You've been left out of the loop; I think it's time to bring you back."

Meyer narrowed her eyes at Hill and tilted her head. "Hello, Teagan."

Meyer's head shot around to the sound of the voice. The voice she's known for many years. "Phil?!" She exclaimed. "You're meant to be dead!"

"I'm standing here so clearly I'm not." Coulson replied with a grin.

The two shook hands but Meyer quickly pulled Coulson into a tight hug. "Where the hell have you been?! Why'd you fake your death?" She asked patting the older man on the back. Then they parted. Meyer had her hands on Coulson's shoulders.

"Fury faked my death to band together the Avengers." Coulson said. "I've been living in a grass shack in Tahiti. It's a magical place."

"Wow, sounds like fun." Meyer uttered, she removed her hands from his shoulders. "I can't wait to tell Cap-"

"You can't tell the Avengers." Coulson said firmly. "They're not Level 7."

"Oh," Meyer muttered, head slightly down. She shrugged her shoulders and perked up, "Well it's great you're not dead."

"It's great not to be dead." Coulson said with a smile.

"So, what do you want me for?" Meyer asked leaning against the table.

"Heard of the Rising Tide?" Hill inquired.

"Yeah, they're a group of hackers." Meyer said. "And judging by the looks on your faces they're more mysterious than we think."

"Exactly, and I'm putting together a small team to investigate them." Coulson said, "They're a threat."

"You don't tell me twice. They leaked footage about Iron Man and Hulk on their website." Meyer said. She held up a hand and looked to both agents. "Well say no more, I'm in."

"Good." Coulson said. "Now report to Doctor Streiten for a medical." Meyer nodded and left the room.

"She's happy you're alive." Hill said.

"I was her SO, she should be." Coulson smiled.
