Hi everyone i decided to revise some of my stories I found my muse again enjoy

I don't own Riddick (but i wish i did;))

Layla Bradshaw sits alone in her remote cabin in the woods staring at the fire with her burning red eyes. Its been a long 2 weeks for her she never in a million years did she think her life that practically just started has now ended...

'Widow'

When she thinks of the word she usually associate it with older couple that have been together for years and the love f their lives has move on. Up and downs...courting, proposals, weddings, babies,anniversaries...now she doesn't have any of that to look forward to...so she sits her all by herself...alone...

"Meow..." she heard in the darkness behind her, turning her head she see the glowing eyes in her dark little kitchen looking back at her..."Meow"

"Here I come, here I come" she says getting up heading into the darkness

Upon turning on her light she finds her little black hair tabby sitting by her bowl with her beautiful green eyes.

"hey kitty." she coos opening the cabinet grabbing a can of cat food. After opening the can she grab a fork and walked to the cat bowl and forked it bowl.

Layla sat there watching her only companion eat remembering when she got her little fur baby

~Christmas 2 years prior~

Layla felt something on her nose, more like someone tickling her down the bridge of her nose and there could only be one person who would wake her up like that. Opening her eyes she sees pair of beautiful warm brown eyes looking at her with a just as goofy warm smile looking at her.

"Morning beautiful Merry Christmas" he spoke "Time to get up"

"What time is it?" she asks with her sleepy voice

"A little after 8. I got some coffee and chocolate waiting for us" he said

Sitting up rubbing the sleep out of her eyes Layla looked around almost confuse as to where she was, the last thing she remembers was sitting on the couch in front of the roaring fireplace with a glass of wine listening to the jazzy Christmas melodies coming from the radio with her love.

"Good grief I don't remember falling asleep." she says

"Yeah I know we were talking one minute and the next thing I know I'm looking down at you and you were knock out." he says "Come on...time for presents" he putting his hand out for her to grab.

"Can I brush my teeth first?" she says grabbing his hand

He helps her out of bed but he doesn't let go of her at first he wraps his arm around her waist pulling her close to him. He looks down into her gray eyes and kisses her softly on her lips. "Hurry up" he says letting her go patting her lightly on the butt.

Layla walked in the bathroom turning on the light. Looking her reflection she sees the smudges of makeup still on her face turning on the faucet she let the water warm up before wetting her toothbrush and then put her favorite toothpaste on it. As she brushes her teeth she grabs her face cloth hanging up on the towel ran and let it get wet under the warm water.

When she done brushing her teeth and washing her face she run her fingers through her extremely curly black hair that hangs past her shoulders in its natural state but when straighten it goes past her bra straps.

'Another couple of weeks it'll be time to clip my ends.' she thought to herself

She walks out f the bedroom down the stairs to find her lover standing in front of the living room window with his cup of coffee looking out the skyscrapers of the big little city.

"Starting to snow again." he says taking a sip

"It wouldn't be Christmas without it." she replies walking up behind him wrapping her arms around his chest kissing his bare back.

"You ready for presents?" he asked setting his cup of joe down turning around in her around

"Yeah." she says resting her head on his chest listening to his heart beat

"Come on me first." he said leading her over to their before tree.

The both of the sat down on the floor and he reached back behind the tree and brought out a big purple and silver box with a perfect bow on top.

"Hear you go." he says handing it to her "Merry Christmas."

"Thank you." she says with a big smile on her face. "Oh boy I don't want to ruin the wrapping it's so pretty." she says examining the box

"Just lift the lid babe." he tells her

"Oh duh." she says laughing lifting the lid. "OH MY GOD!"

Once the lid was off it revealing a small black kitten. "Oh my god she so cute!" she exclaims reaching in to box to pick up the little kitty.

"Hope you're not superstitions." he says

"When have you ever known me to superstitions?" she replies holding the kitten to her chest petting it. "Oh my goodness you're precious. What's her name?"

"Look on her tags."

Layla looked down at the tag and it read 'Lucy' "Lucy..that cute it suits you my little 'I love Lucy'."

she says playing with collar, she looks back down at the collar again and noticing something shining in the black fur. She reaches for it and gasps and look up at him with tears in her eyes to see him on his knees in front of her.

He takes her right hand both of his "Layla I love you. I've loved you from the moment I laid eyes on you. And my love for you has grown in ways I couldn't have imagine getting to know you. I look at you and I see someone I want to spend the rest of my life with, to grown old with, to raise a family with... I see you and I see someone that on my last day here on earth as I'm taking my last breathe I want to be looking in your eyes and wait for you on the other side. Do me the honor Layla...say you'll be my bride. Will you marry me?"

Yes." she cries, " I love you so much yes I'll be your bride."

He kisses her hard with all passion a man can have for the woman he loves and reaches to take the ring off the collar of the kitten and places it on her ring finger. "Perfect." he says kissing her hand then on her lips.

~End of flashback~

Layla was snapped out her day dreaming by Lucy who claimed into lap. "Hey pretty girl..you miss him too huh?" she says petting the cat.

"Meow." Lucy purrs rubbing her head against her humans

"You're the only I have left of him." she says hugging her

Layla stood up with Lucy in her arms and walked out the kitchen turning out the lights going right back into the living room and sitting on the couch staring at the roaring fire.
