Hey everyone. This is the beginning of a Circus Au that I want to explore. This story was written for both Halloween Bingo Funfair Event, and October Writing Club's Cookie's Crafty Corner on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For Halloween Bingo I used prompt 52. Circus! AU. For Cookie's Crafty Corner I used the House Decorations prompt 8 Gravestones the task was to write about a character that dies in cannon and it was a bonus. I hope you all enjoyed the prologue to Fred's Magic Circus.
Fred watched as the people waited in line to enter the big top. He had always dreamed of either owning his own joke shop or starting his own circus show. The fact that he and George now had both a circus show and a joke shop made a smile creep up on his face. This must be how that muggle circus show runner PT Barnum felt when he waited to open up his show.
"You almost ready, Freddie?" George asked throwing an arm around his brother's shoulder.
Fred nodded. "Ready as I'll ever be Georgie," he told his twin brother with a half smile. "Shall we go and start the show? Or should we make them wait for it.?"
"I'd say we should start the show. This is part of the way we make our bread and butter, brother."
Fred chuckled as the two of them ran out to the great applause of the crowd. Stopping in the middle of the circle they bowed to the crowd. Fred did a motion with his wand and the spell to magnify ones voice. Looking around the tent his smirk widened considerably as he saw all the people standing on their feet and the show hadn't even begun yet.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Fred called, "you are in for a treat tonight folks. Tonight we have not only or original attractions but we have a special surprise for you. Joining us tonight for the first and only time under Fred and George's Big Top Circus are our own brother Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and the Harry Potter to regale us with tales of their harrowing escapes from Lord Voldemort."
There was an audible gasp at the name Voldemort. People still didn't really like to say or hear the name of the Dark Lord but his reign was in the past. This was the now. He watched as dawning came across their faces and smiles of glee and cheer went up from the crowd.
"But first we'd like you to give a round of applause for our acrobats," George exclaimed as both and Fred back out of the middle and ring as the acrobats somersaulted into views. "The Chang sisters."
A round of applause went up as Cho Chang and her siblings all came into view. This night was looking good so far, Fred thought as he watched Cho and the Changs do their usual routine.
