Sleep was elusive that full moon night as the seven heroes roamed the streets. Even Vin, who was normally aloof at night, prowled the boardwalk beside Chris. Buck and JD paced opposite. Ezra shuffled his cards repeatedly from outside the saloon's doors while Inez took her snooze, pleasantly unaware. Nathan silently accompanied Josiah while the preacher read his book. Dread pooled in their guts but none knew why until they road into town. They moved for their guns, Chris dropping his cheroot, as the fiery horses reared and snorted. They vanished immediately, leaving them to wonder what they had witnessed.
