She sighed in longing for just a few minutes to rest as she curled into a ball around her guardian, her hand on her sword. A shadow fell across them. She did not need to look up to see who it was for the calm that accompanied his presence. Her eyes began immediately to drift shut. In his shadow, she felt safe for she knew that he would die trying to protect her, which she prayed would never happen. Mulan's eyes shut and, with Mushu curled into her side and Cri-Kee cuddled against him, she slept underneath Khan's watchful gaze.
