This is an inconsequential piece of fluff. But I like those and I know there are people out there who like them as well.

So please enjoy this little bit of "angel food cake with no strawberries." ;)

Ken stared sideways at the blue-haired boy who stood near the back of the group. Joe, he remembered the boy's name being. He was holding a white digimon with bright green eyes, purple markings, and a tuft of bright orange fur on his head.

Joe must have sensed he was being watched, because he turned in time to catch Ken staring at his digimon partner. "Huh? Oh, right, you haven't been introduced yet! Ken, this is Gomamon. He's my partner, and my best friend."

Ken remembered him. He remembered every digimon he'd ever tormented.

Slowly, with Wormmon at his heels, Ken stepped up to Joe and Gomamon. The seal-like digimon looked up at him. There was no trace of bitterness or anger in his eyes.

Ken bowed slightly. "I'm terribly sorry for what I did to you, and I hope that someday you can find it in your heart to forgive me."

Joe looked taken aback, but Gomamon remained expressionless. Finally he blinked and a wide smile lit up his face. "Hey, don't worry about it! Just buy me a hot fudge sundae and we'll call it even!"

Ken stared in shock. How could this little digimon forgive him so easily? Why did every person he'd ever hurt repay his evil deeds with such kindness? It was more than he deserved.

As if he could read Ken's thoughts, Joe smiled. "That's Gomamon for you," he said brightly. "He never could hold a grudge."

Gomamon grinned up at his digidestined partner. "Yep! That's what makes me so great!"

Their cheerfulness was infectious and Ken managed a small smile. If nothing else he could at least be grateful to have found such good friends. "Well, it's nice to finally be properly introduced. Thank you for your kindness," he said. "And I truly am sorry."

Gomamon waved a paw dismissively. "Like I said, it's all water under the bridge." He winked. "But I'm serious about that sundae!"

Ken nodded, his smile growing wider. "I would be honored to oblige."

Yeah. Gomamon was always one of my favorite digimon, and Ken is easily the best character from 02. I like to imagine Ken got a chance to apologize, just cause I think any interaction between these two would be adorable.

…I have no idea where they are or what time in the series this scene would happen, but I imagine it sometime around when they all gathered for the World Tour stuff.
