How to Tame Your Royal Lamb

Summary: 'Tis the season of haircuts for the royal children of Enchancia. Unfortunately for Sofia the Royal barber just happens to be sick when it's time for her turn. But maybe a royal sorcerer can help with her hair.

No this story has nothing to do with lambs or taming them. Just fluff.

Roland and Miranda knew that it was the season for haircuts when James' had long locks and the girls complained of their hair hanging in their eyes.

Sofia was used to the routine of being the youngest and unfortunately having to go last. But she didn't mind. In fact she didn't mind at all.

She would just have to clip her bangs back for a few weeks to keep it out of her face. Despite that, it was worth the wait.

Unfortunately the Royal barber just had to come down with illness during her turn.

That was how Sofia had found herself in Cedric's workshop, patiently sitting on her stool that was often used for lessons with growing bangs hanging down her face.

"We could just let your hair grow like Princess Rapunzel's," Cedric teased as he looked through a spell book on how to properly cut hair.

Sofia knew that he was only using the spell book to avoid another incident with hair like his childhood. She didn't blame him for that one.

Still, the thought of being like one of Amber's favorite princesses was fun but had the task of hard work and unnecessary dragging around in the dirt.

Baileywick would have a fit over that.

"Any luck Mr. Cedric?" Sofia asked with a smile.

"Getting there," Cedric said, not taking his eyes off the spell book. "Let's see... Hair pulling... Hair reversal... Ah yes! Hair cutting!"

Sofia couldn't help but giggle at the satisfaction on her mentor's face as he closed the spell book and popped up a pair of scissors with his wand.

"How does it work Mr. Cedric?" Sofia wondered, her giggling coming to an end as he faced her.

"I guide the scissors to where I want them to cut," Cedric answered, musing her hair.

"So what would happen if I tried to do it?"

"You would mostly likely make yourself bald princess. This spell is more recommended for adults to use, not for a little girl named Sofia."

"But aren't I old enough?!" Sofia pouted, crossing her arms.

"You're eleven. That doesn't make you an adult yet," Cedric smirked, bopping her nose.

Sofia couldn't pout for long as the scissors started to magically cut her hair. She smiled at the thought of Amber and James being jealous that they never had a chance to have their hair cut by not a royal sorcerer but with magic.

It felt strange to hear Cedric command an object to do it's job but it was just as funny to Sofia as when Roland had commanded a cow to give him milk during the baker king incident.

It had Sofia smile at the memory who didn't even notice the locks of hair on the floor or Cedric telling her that it was over.

"What did you say?" Sofia asked, a little confused as Cedric groaned slightly.

"Your hair is finished," Cedric repeated for what seemed to be for awhile to him but to her, it had only been once.

Sofia ran off the stool before hugging her mentor's legs.

"You're the best Mr. Cedric!"

She ran off to tell her siblings as the sorcerer held back a smirk that started to creep on his face.

Should he tell his apprentice that the magical scissors made her hair go towards her neck and not to her shoulders like her hair usually was cut to that length?

Cedric shook his head as he wouldn't have been surprised at the thought of Sofia screaming out his name in pure horror.

"MR. CEDRIC! WHAT DID YOU DO?!"

In a matter of thirty seconds that is.
