Arthur and the gang were anticipating the teacher's carnival at Lakewood Elementary School. Some were excited, others were bored, particularly Francine. Fern was excited for Mr Ratburn's puppet shows, since he was not only a teacher, but talented in handling marionettes, ping pong and making puppet shows. Despite his grave strict appearance on the outside, he did have a humorous side. Fern was excited, but Francine teased Fern, thinking that all his puppet shows were "baby shows", and used a sandwich to mimic him and tease Fern, making her feel very upset.
After lunch, Fern gathered with the others, except Francine, and told them everything that happened.
"No wonder she called me four eyes." said Arthur.
"No wonder she thought I was a bully and stole her bike." said Binky.
"No wonder she thinks she's the soccer queen." said Sue Ellen.
"No wonder she - " began Buster, but Fern had an idea.
"Okay, I get the point. But I have a magnificent idea!"
The next day, Arthur and the gang drew comics of Francine, some of her as a monster, one of which portrayed her as a slimy green monster.
"We need to pour her with green gloop." said Muffy, stifling giggles. "Like in the movie Carrie, except that Francine is the Chris Hargensen of the school."
"That will teach her." said Buster, "As if she has any feelings at all."
Working together, Arthur and the gang made some green gloop on the day of the carnival. They went to Mrs MacGrady's fortune teller shop, who heard about the comics, and understood their situations. She agreed to their plan. She heard Francine approaching, so she urged them to stand behind the curtains, whilst grasping on the rope that would pour the bucket of green gloop on Francine.
Finally, Francine did come to the fortune teller's shop.
Francine sat there, anticipating her fortune.
Mrs MacGrady waved her hands on the crystal ball, chanting out Francine's fortune.
"I see a stuck-up monster who was selfish and did not care about anyone but herself...as well as a soccer queen wannabe, and a pair of bossy boots, as well as a horrid little beast who wants to munch up kids and prove that she is the queen of the universe."
"I guess that's me." Francine admitted sadly.
"Oh, and I also see you, covered in...green gloop!"
She motioned to the gang handing behind the curtains.
Before Francine knew it, the gang pulled the rope, and the bucket of green gloop poured all over her, drenching her with green liquid.
Francine growled in confusion and anger, unleashing her wrath and screamed and roared, now looking like the Incredible Hulk.
"RRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR! SPIRITS! GHOSTS! WITCHES! WHY ARE YOU ALL AFTER ME!" she screamed, forgetting her horrible attitude, as she rushed out the tent in despair.
