When someone close to Lucy dies, Natsu tries to comfort her
Something that I'm going through. make it a fanfic!
09. Death
Natsu hauled himself up to Lucy's window, carefully opening it and scanning the grounds to make sure he was safe. His eyes landed on Lucy on her bed, crying her eyes out.
Again.
He sighed and slipped through, bending over and jumping in before closing the window behind him. He quietly made his way over to the sobbing girl, putting a hand on her shoulder and trying hard not to scare her.
"Hey Luce, you doing ok?" He asked. Obviously, she wasn't. She was sitting at home, crying. She sniffled in response, trying to wipe her face off before a certain cat could come in and make fun of her.
"N-no!" She cried, burying her face farther into her hands. Natsu shook his head before carefully sitting down next to her, trying to think of ways to comfort her. He wasn't that good with helping people in these sort of situations, never been through one himself. So he sat there, holding out his arms and wrapping her in them to comfort her.
"It's okay Luce." He said somewhat awkwardly, rocking her in his arms. She cried into his chest until she ran out of tears, pulling back slightly and wiping her face off again.
"T-thanks." She hiccupped, trying for a smile.
"It's ok. You shouldn't cry so much." He reassured, giving her his usual toothy grin.
"But I loved him!" She coughed, her throat raw. Natsu suppressed the urge to roll his eyes at her.
"Luce, he was a fish." He said softly, not wanting to receive a Lucy Kick.
"I don't care! He was the best pet!" She cried again, trying to stifle them. He rolled his eyes before snickering quietly.
"It's not funny!" Lucy grumbled, pouting cutely. He stared at her solemnly, nodding his head.
"You're right..I'm sorry. How about we get a new one?" He asked her like a child. She perked up instantly, a light in her eyes.
"Really?!" She asked in excitement. He nodded his head, suppressing his grin. She hugged him in gratitude, giving him a light peck on the cheek that startled him.
"Let's go!" She said enthusiastically, taking his hand and towing him through town. He let her drive him around, still flushed and speechless.
