Another Jack and the Pack rewrite, this time it's "Thomas's Trusty Friends" Enjoy and comment.
One morning, Thomas took his friend Ned to the old brick-works.
Ned was excited.
"I get to demolish stuff today!" exclaimed Ned.
"Demolish?" chuffed Thomas.
"That means I get to knock buildings down!" said Ned cheerfully.
Thomas thought it was a bit weird that his friends liked to knock buildings down.
When they arrived, Miss Jenny was showing the foreman the demolition plan.
"Time to get to work!" said Miss Jenny. "Remember..."
"Safety first!" boomed Ned and Oliver.
Ned was excited to demolish the building.
"You're not going to demolish." said Oliver. "Your job is to scoop up the rubble."
This made Ned disappointed. He wanted to demolish the building.
Ned usually got in trouble for breaking things, but today, it wouldn't matter.
Soon, Oliver was soon fitted with a wrecking ball.
"Knock this wall down first!" said the foreman.
"Stand back please." called Oliver.
Oliver went to knock down the wall, but it wouldn't come down.
"Let me try again." he said.
He went against the wall as hard as he could, but still, it wouldn't come down.
"We need a bigger wrecking ball!" called the foreman.
In no time, Oliver was fitted with a bigger wrecking bowl.
He went against the wall once more, and once again, the wall didn't come down.
Then, Ned came over.
"Can I help?" asked Ned.
"No!" said the foreman. "This is Oliver's job!"
Ned was sad.
"This is the strongest wall I've ever seen!" said Oliver's operator.
The foreman went to look at the wall.
"We'll send for an even bigger wrecking ball!"
Meanwhile, Ned was loading rubble into Thomas's freight cars.
But Ned was being careless, and dumped the rubble on the ground, not in the freight cars!
"Ned!" snapped Thomas. "The rubble goes in the freight cars!"
"Sorry." said Ned.
Ned wanted to knock buildings down.
Finally, an even bigger wrecking bowl was fitted onto Oliver.
He aimed very carefully, and swung the wrecking ball towards the wall.
But the wall didn't fall down!
"Bother!" said Oliver.
"This building will never come down!" groaned his operator.
Then, it happened. Ned, who was still thinking about knocking buildings down, wasn't watching where he was going.
"Look out!" cried his operator.
But by then, it was too late!
The chimney rocked, the building rumbled, and everyone took cover.
Oliver and Thomas watched in amazement as the building was demolished!
"Oops." said Ned.
"Hooray!" cheered the workmen.
"Ouch." said Oliver as several pieces of rubble fell on him.
Now Oliver was dirty and dented, and Thomas's freight cars were full.
"Bust my buffers!" said Thomas. "I'm loaded!"
"I did it!" cried Ned. "I demolished a building!"
Oliver was cross.
"I think you've demolished enough for one day."
Ned felt pleased with himself.
