Prologue: Ominous Awakenings

The great beast opened its eyes. A feat which it had not done for many centuries. The beast yawned, its gigantic jaw stretched wide, revealing row after row of wickedly sharp fangs. The sound of monsters yawn shook the walls of its dark cave and reverberated loudly throughout the complex tunnel system in which the creature lived.

Like a sick excuse for a common house cat the beast stretched its massive legs, and arched its back so much that its spine rubbed against the ceiling of the vaulted cave. The beast now paced about in a large circle, its wicked claws tearing the loosening the ground for him to lay back down on. Once content with its bed it curled itself up into a compact ball and closed its eyes.

It was then that it felt the difference, with a start it opened its massive eye lids and concentrated. Yes, it could feel it now, the spinning of the world about it. The creature felt now that the world moved more slowly then it had when he awoke last, thousands of years ago. It was a small difference, but to a beast who had lived since the creation of the Earth it was as obvious as the sun in the sky.

Yes, it thought to itself, yes the world was moving slowly now compared to the days long ago when night and day seemed to come at once. The Earth about it moved at a crawl next to what it had done thousands of years ago. Yes, it thought to itself maliciously, the ends days would come soon. And with this thought in its mind it once again fell into a deep slumber.

Centuries came and gone as the beast slumbered, millenniums came and went but still the beast slept. For a creature as ancient and as powerful as this one 'soon' was not a day, a week, a month of even a year. For a beast such as this 'soon' was best described as centuries at the least and a few millenniums at the most.

Four thousand years had passed since the creature first awoke, and now in the year humans dubbed "2004 AD" the beast once again stirred. The monster now awoke, and stretched as it did years before. The end days had come, and it would be the herald to announce its arrival. The creature now did what it had not done for millions of years and left its massive cave complex.

At the mouth of its cave the monster breathed in air which it had not breathed for millions of years, and gazed upon stars which it did not recognize. The world about it had changed much in the last millions of years, so much so that even the stars above had changed their faces. With a final breath of air, Tiamat spread its wings and flew into the night sky.

Half-way around the world, a man with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead awoke with a start.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------This is the first fan fiction that I have written about Harry Potter so everyone hang with me on this one. Please Read and Review, I'll be adding more chapters over the next couple of weeks, this one will be the shortest seeing as how it really is just an introduction. Also, ten points to whoever knows what Tiamat is.
