On a quiet Summer morning, as pink blossoms surrounded the area and trees blew their lush-green leafs in the wind with a hint of golden sunlight dancing in the shadows… a figure sits awaiting an important reason. Her strawberry quills danced in the wind and emerald eyes scanned around the place for the person who requested to meeting her here…in private, alone.
'Unless it's one of his hurtful jokes…' the pink heroine sighed softly, 'I wouldn't know what to do with myself anymore… I always chase him to get his attention…' Her ears perked at the sound of footsteps in the long grass.
'Is that him…? Please tell me it's…'
"Hi."
Amy turned her head upon seeing a familiar hedgehog with his fur the color of spring water and eyes that glinted with a hint of green-olive. His smile, always a hint of cheeky, was the traditional part of him, which she had loved the most.
"Sonic…"
"Listen, Ames…" His hand found a liking to search behind his head as he blushes a little, "There's a reason I called you here, and I had to do something to distract the boys."
"It's okay," nodded the red dressed girl. She knew he had to find a way to keep Knuckles and Tails off of his back, even in times when Sonic wanted to do something to only involve them, alone…
"Well, anyways…" Sonic cleared his throat, "I've called you here because of a secret I've hidden."
"You seem to have a lot of them as well." Amy giggled as her crush's face as it went from a cobalt blue into a cherry red but it wore of slowly, leaving the same color as her fur, a bright pink glow.
His hand left his head at last, "That's true but this one…" He placed the hand upon her face, as her green gaze glittered in wonder. How Sonic loved that gaze, so he felt it would be one of the right times to tell her…
"Sonic…" Amy stared up at him, his eyes half closed, "What's happening…?"
"I'm sorry I should've paid more attention…" His face drew closer to hers with every following second, "You're no longer that sweet young kid who always clung to me like a teddy bear. You've changed, Amy… and so have my feelings for you…"
"S-Sonic…I thought that…"
"I liked you as a sister just around the others; I'm through with that now." He paused as memories of Amy and Sonic had many fun times together, "What I'm saying is…Amy Rose, I l…"
"Say no more…I love you too…"
As she said this, their lips had met within an inch but they got brought close together, as the kiss began between the two hedgehogs. Sonic hugged her around the waist and Amy began to play with his quills. This lasted for a while, until Sonic pulled back, his eyes beginning to glitter as well.
"But promise one thing for me…" Sonic looked around for anyone present. He found none and turned back, "No one has to know this yet, because of you always chasing me down and my running from you. One day, we'll let the guys know when the time is right…please?"
Amy stared into him, thought for a moment. It would be great to spread the news but she knew Sonic would worry about such sudden change might spoil his title of a Hero. Finally, accepting to wait when the time would come around on its own rate, she nodded to him.
"I think I can handle a few more days of our childish love…it'll be okay…" Amy smiled, watching him sigh a little in relief. He was glad he didn't have to worry…not until later anyhow.
"Amy-chan…" the words left his lips like a misty whisper.
"Sonic-kun…" she spoke this like a soft melody of a mother singing to her child.
They stared even longer into the eyes of the other one, as Amy chose that moment to leap into his arms and embraced him. Sonic stumbled backward a little at the force of the glomp, but he also ended up hugging her close to him, dropping on his knees as did she. How long this hug even lasted during the day, no one ever knows…
