Minato looked through the dark void that been his home for quite sometime, he had done what was need to be done, to protect all those he loved. How long had it been since he sacrificed himself, a month? A year? Time really wasn't relevant, he couldn't even tell how long it had been since he saw Ryouji, Pharaos, or even Nyx, who used to enjoy questioning his reasoning for doing this for the people of earth, but as of lately seemed to be smiling about something, though she would never tell him. If he asked her grin would simply widen and say.

"All in good time." Of course, he would simply take the answer and go back to staring into the void. His attention drifted from the memories when he saw a familiar blue flutter by his eyes, he couldn't help but smile at the butterfly, the butterfly had appeared after one of Elizabeth's visits to the gate. The little butterfly seemed to enjoy exploring the void; it would leave for a while then suddenly reappear and flutter around his head as if trying to tell him where it had been. But this time it wanted him to follow.

"Hey what's up?" Grabbing his sleeve cuff, it began to pull him in a certain direction. "It doesn't matter where we go, we're still here..." He could feel a pull from the direction it was pulling him in. He look to his cuff again and blink for a moment he could have sworn he saw a pixie or fairy for a moment in place of the butterfly, but it quickly faded back. "Why don't you understand I'm stuck here?"

"The time has come, humans are proving themselves more." Minato turned back toward the voice.

"What do you mean?"

"Humans have started to understand the importance of life; they need their Messiah to lead them with hope. Now go forth Messiah of Life." What on earth did that mean? "Though the world is changing you must leave a small amount of essence to still guard the gate, I wish you luck in your new found journey." He turned once again to the direction the butterfly pulled him in where he saw a strange green glow. As he neared it he felt has if he was being pulled in two directions, the closer he came the more it felt like being ripped apart then just being tugged. Gritting his teeth until he could take it no longer, his eye sight began to blur, as his eyes began to close he felt weightless and a tingling sensation as the tearing feeling faded, then nothing. If only he had been able to stay awake a little longer he would have heard Pharaos's last words.

"We will watch over this part of your essence. Good luck with the enemies you will face and the friends you will no longer recognize." Holding a small orb close to his chest.

Barry Allen, aka The Flash, was ready to hit his head on the control board. You cannot ask a speedster to sit at a control panel for hours on end and not expect them to develop some form of ADHD, he would have to ask Bart how he can constantly get out of control duty, then again it may be from the fact the poor boy speed tapped for so long last time he left a deep impression on the panel. Batman was not happy about that. Flash couldn't help but think back to the last time the three speedsters were together, he could only wonder how things could have been different, what if he had only noticed sooner that Wally was being used as a discharge point, maybe just maybe...

"If you continue to the think of all the what if's, do you really think your honoring is memory." Barry jumped at the sudden voice of J'onn J'ozz aka Martian Manhunter.

"I thought you didn't like to intrude on people's minds?" Barry said with slight irritation. J'onn flinched before another voice appeared from the left.

"He didn't have too, it's written on your face." Batman sighed. Barry couldn't deny it. He simply nodded.

"Your right, Wally would be happy with how the world is now; I mean with us working along side the Team, the world just seems more at peace. I just wish Wally could have met his niece and nephew before he passed." Iris was about 6 months along, knowing they were having twins had been to quite a shock but a blessing to them.

"Barry, if you need time, you know you can take it, as you said the world is in an unusual peace." J'onn said. Barry looked at him before shaking his head.

"Thanks, but even if I take time off here I still have my job in Central to do, it isn't enough, my mind will wander more and I just don't need that right now." Before looking to Batman once more, he seemed to grimace more then usual. "What's up Bats?"

"I was just thinking about how unusually quiet it has been, there have been a few anomalies in Japan in recent years. First there was Apathy Syndrome back in 2009 that seemed to resolve itself, then a small town had a rash of murders and kidnapping that ended with the arrest of a police officer working on the case and finally just recently a group of cat burglars have appeared moving with unimaginable speed and stealth."

"Why is this the first I'm hearing of any of this?!" Barry exclaimed.

"As I said every issue resolved itself. There was no need for us to get involved. With these burglars we know very little about them for all we know it is simply the police being incompetent, it's not the first time it's happened and it certainly won't be the last." Batman rubbed his chin as he explained.

"Still it must be bothering you that all this stuff has been happening, if you're looking into it!" Barry sighed. Batman looked to him then J'onn who had been standing to the side of conversation but seemed just as intrigued by it.

"Passing interest, anything that stands out in the news, it has simply accumulated over time though..." He wondered if he should tell his teammates he was looking into a connection between the first incident and the second or rather the people involved in them, three people from the first incident appeared in Inaba only 5 months after the case had ended. Most people would think much of it but for the world's greatest detective it was too much of a coincidence for it not to be connected. Batman was pulled from his thoughts by the alarm going off. Rushing over to the control board he quickly analyzed the sensor.

"Something is coming through the Zeta..."

"What wrong?" Flash asked.

"It's strange, but the sensor can't place where the zeta is coming from...in fact it's not fully Zeta beams." The three leaguers rushed to the Zeta tubes and watched as a mix of the usual blue and a strange green mixed in the glow of the tube. The three prepared for whatever came through the beam, what they weren't ready for was a young man no older then seventeen walk through the tube. He swayed for a moment, looking almost dead on his feet. As his foot hit the first step whatever had kept the boy on his feet disappeared because Flash barely had time to register that he had started to fall forward before he had rushed to catch him. As he sank into Flash's catch, a small silver item, dropped from his waist and slide across the floor. Batman flinch as it ran into his foot. He leaned down to pick it up before stopping, it was a small gun no larger then a revolver. J'onn seemed to understand rather quickly Batman's hesitation; he instead leaned down and picked it up for him.

"Perhaps with should focus on our uninvited guest first." The two walk towards Flash and the young boy, his blue hair fell over his left eye and his breathing was level.

"Kid must be exhausted, I never seen someone besides speedsters collapse so easily." Batman nodded to him. The kid looked quite innocent but with his entrance and the gun, Batman was going to take any chances.

"J'onn, I know this a bit to ask but I think this is one of those times." J'onn looked reluctant to do it but he knew Batman was right, they need to know if this boy was dangerous or not.

Linking his mind to the boy, he ran through the most recent memories, the boy had seen quite a bit of the void, an unknown realm this intrigued him as to how the boy had got there but has he tried to go farther back he was meet with a very strong block. He pushed a little hard before a white face with a grin yelled "Messiah!" threw him out of the mind, what he hadn't seen but his teammates had was him being thrown back across the room before sprawling out on the ground.

"J'onn!" Batman yelled, before rushing over to him, the Martian looked up at him.

"I am unharmed." Before levitating himself back up. "It seems this boy has had quite an interesting past few years, he has been in the Void." Batman didn't seem interested in a period of time that was non-existent.

"And before that?" J'onn didn't respond for a moment, he looked back to the boy before he responded.

"Nothing." Batman and Flash looked to each other then to the boy, who had been unaffected by the intrusion into his mind, before finally looking back to J'onn.

"Nothing?" Flash asked.

"Either, the boy has such a strong mind, he is easily blocking me from looking before that..."

"Or..." Batman raised an invisible eyebrow below the cowl. J'onn sighed once more as he looked at the boy.

"Or...more likely he does not remember before the Void."

"In finding one's self one must give up their self and thus a new contract is to be forged."
