Naruto slowly walked through the village, scratching at his wrists and upper arms, something wasn't right. This burning, this itching, it wasn't normal. He had to see the old hag about this, surely she could help with irregularity. He avoided eye contact with people, keeping his fixation on his arms, suddenly he saw an insect run through his vein, he shook his head, the insect disappeared, was this real?

"Grandma Tsunade! Open up!" he shouted, banging on the Hokage offices door. "Open u-!"

"Naruto! You know very well Lady Tsunade is busy! What in the world do you need!?" Shizune exclaimed.

"This!" Naruto shouted, throwing his arms up. "My arms, they burn!"

"Naruto, let me see." Tsunade answered coolly, motioning with her finger for him to come to her.

"Look, see?" Naruto insisted, thrusting his arms at Tsunade.

Tsunade grabbed onto his arms, "Stay still Naruto, geez kid, you're such a pain"

She didn't see anything out of the ordinary, well, except for redness and tons of scratch marks from Naruto's scratching, but nothing to indicate burning.

"I saw insects too, but then they were gone." He whispered gravely while staring at his arms.

"Naruto, have you been sleeping alright? Eating alright?" she asked as she began to rub cream into his arms to heal the damage he had done to himself.

"Yes! I have! Why don't you believe me Granny?" Naruto insisted, "This is crazy, why aren't you seeing what I see?"

Tsunade sighed, searching for some sleeping pills, "Naruto, I assure you, I can't find anything that would point to burning, or let alone there being insects inside your body!"

Naruto fought back the urge to scream, this was insane; why couldn't she see?

"Here, take a few of these for the next couple of nights, okay? They'll help you get some rest." Tsunade insisted, shoving the pills into his hands. "Come back and see me in a few days, okay?"

Naruto sighed as he nodded, feeling like a failure. Maybe the old lady was right, maybe all he needed was some rest. The cream felt nice on his skin, he didn't feel as much of the burning as he did earlier. Despite the burning sensation being slightly alleviated, the itching seemed to still be persistent. When he arrived back at his small apartment, he quickly took a few of the pills Tsunade had given him. He then proceeded to complete his night time rituals; bladder emptied, teeth brushed, and lastly face washed. He slowly began to stare at himself in the mirror as he dried his face with a towel. His eyed widened as he began to see the insects move around inside of him again. He screamed, looking down at his arms he saw them there too. "No…this can't be!" he shouted, he quickly dashed into the living room, locating his kunai; ignoring all logic Naruto began to cut where the insects were moving around underneath his skin.

Blood began to flow, his eyes widened in horror as cockroaches began to pour out along with his blood. "I'm not crazy, I'm not crazy!" he shouted, as he continued to make cuts all over his body, the bugs poured out as well. "How did this-?" he whispered, his vision began to go hazy as the sleeping pills suddenly began to go into effect. The last thing he saw was a pool of his own blood surrounding himself mixed with cockroaches.

Author's Note: Well after watching an episode of criminal minds last night, which featured Morgellons disease. I was kind of fascinated by this disease, it seeming so real to the person that this short story was born. Hope it wasn't too bad!
