We Have Not Lost

O'church, a place of worship

Why must I cry for thee?

It is so strange they mourn

Over this earthly possession

When we have not lost.

The four walls and roof;

Built with the intentions to remain forever,

With human hands and power.

Why do they mourn greatly

Over a place

We have not lost?

Open your eyes

My dear brothers and sisters, in Christ,

Mop up the tears

That spew from your eyes;

Look up to the heavenly skies,

And to those around you.

O' church, a place of worship

Why do they cry for thee?

You are in us, as Christ says

We have not lost, dear brothers and sisters,

We have not lost.

This poem was written for my church. They were sadden by our loss of both our pastor who passed away in May 2012 and our church. We are the church, the body of Christ. No building, no worldly possesion can compare! We can praise in any building, amywhere!

"God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made Him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is His body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with hHmself," (Ephesians 1:22-23).

"Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of His body, the church," (Ephesians 4:15).
