Aeryn trembles with fear. These thoughts aren't hers, these perceptions aren't hers, and she is crushed by their volume. So much, too much, no way to process it, and it's getting worse and worse. No doubt she's lost now.
And then a voice, familiar, going through her, into the deeps and stirring her memory. She strains to focus, to pull the strands of perception that led to it closer and let the others go, but she can still only whisper "John...". Too much. She can't think, can't breathe...
Words, lots of words. Screaming, fighting, so loud, so loud... and there he is, holding her, touching her, and another instructing him. She calms a bit with his touch. The pain in her eyes comes fast—you have saved her life—burning, burning, through her head, through her veins and through her, out her stomach, onto him, and yet he stays. He takes off his shirt and puts his arms back around her.
Then the memories come. Again so much... she remembers names, places, images, stray thoughts, all at once: a nearly incomprehensible flood, and her comprehension struggles to stay afloat. Peacekeepers, flying, Moya, Crichton.
Crichton... She feels another wave of nausea as she realizes just what she's done to Crichton's shirt. And why is she actually enjoying the feel of his warm chest under her, his arms around her, letting someone else take care of her? He's whispering in her ear, nonsense syllables, and his body feels so sturdy under her and his hands feel so good stroking her tangled, slimy hair that she doesn't even consider moving.
She lays her weight on Crichton and closes her eyes. Just for a moment...
