Iron Man
Chapter 1
He was turned to steel
In the great magnetic field
Where he traveled time
For the future of mankind
"Tyler, are you okay?" Val Lanear asked her boyfriend, Tyler Connell, sympathy evident in her crystal clear blue eyes. He seemed like he was going through a rough spot and she wanted to help him get through it. Just like he had helped her so many times before.
"I'm fine," Tyler said, folding up the English vocab test he had been staring at in shock. It wasn't like him to just fail a test. He couldn't get over it. He should have passed it. He had studied for nearly an hour, he should have passed
"No, your not. Something's bothering you," Val said understanding in her voice. She leaned forward on the couch they were sitting on and with her math book still in her lap she locked her blue eyes with his.
Tyler looked around the common room of the EMS station and tried to get away from her penetrating look. He didn't want her to know, "How did you do the that history test you took today?" He asked to distract her. She wasn't swayed.
"Tyler, come on. Just tell me what's wrong. I want to help, I will help you. If you let me, " Val told Tyler in a reassuring voice, as she put her hands on his. She hated seeing anyone distressed, especially her boyfriend.
Tyler wanted to tell her what was wrong. He wanted to tell her how he was afraid for the first in time in his life that he was going to fail. It scared him. He didn't want her to know that he was scared he had to be strong for her and help her whatever she was going through. It couldn't be the other way around. It just couldn't. He couldn't let her see him scared.
"No!" Tyler said getting up, "You Know what! It's none of your damn business! So just leave me alone! It's not your problem! I don't need you!" With that he left the room leaving a very stunned and confused Val in his wake.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have blown up at you like that. It was completely unfair of me ," Tyler told Val outside her locker the next day, "Do you forgive me?" He finished as she closed her locker and began walking with him down the hall.
"Of course I do. I don't think I could ever be mad at you. I like you too much," Val paused as they stopped in front of her next class, the dreaded math, "I just wish you were more open with me. I only want to help,"
"I know you do," He told her as he kissed her on the check, "Bye! I'll see you at lunch," With that he disappeared into the crowd. Leaving Val stunned for the second time in one day.
