Educating Charlie
Charlie could hear the faint buzz of arguing even over the grizzly roars courtesy of the Discovery Channel documentary she was watching.
She procrastinated as she debated the wisdom of putting herself between an angry Sam and Dean; the Winchesters in a rage were hands down, no contest, scarier than any giant bear.
In the end, she realized, if her time in the bunker had taught her anything, it was that she was far more capable than she had ever thought. Not to mention the obligation she felt since they'd adopted her into their strange extended family.
Having decided, she trotted down the corridor, just in time to wince at the crescendo of the dramatic door slamming coming from Sam's room.
"Everything, okay?"
"He's just so stubborn!" ranted a red-faced Dean.
Rolling her eyes at the irony, Charlie tried to mollify his feelings. "Sure, there's a pig-headed streak a mile wide, but-"
"What're you saying about Sam?" growled Dean.
"He's a great guy and you deserve each other," stuttered Charlie, hands held up in surrender as she retreated for cover in the study.
"Don't get between Mama Bear and her cub, got it," she muttered, switching to a different channel.
