This is a Seraph of the End fan fiction. This is in no way intended to be yaoi. I do not do yaoi; if you do then that's your thing. This is simply meant to be a sweet scenario, thank you.
Author's note! Okay, I saw a picture in an art book for the anime where it shows twelve-year-old Mika hugging Yu from behind and Yu was clearly not happy about it. " That is how this story was born.
Twelve-year-old Mika had been able to secure an old camera. One of those that develops the photo as soon as you take it. How did he get this? He didn't steal it; he was able to acquire it through certain connections. Mika wasn't thinking about such things at the moment though. He was excited to show the rest of his family his find. It's going to be so nice to be able to capture memories together. Mika was sure this would add a little light to their grey lives.
"There you are! What took you so long?!" Yu snapped as soon as Mika came into view. But his attention soon shifted to the object around Mika's neck.
"Where'd you get that? From that jerk?"
Mika smiled and held up the camera with his hands.
"Does it matter? Now we can take photos together!"
"You guys can take photos together."
Mika frowned.
"Don't be that way, Brother! If we leave you out that would be like leaving you out of the family."
Yu was silent.
"You're not getting out of it." Mika added, smiling a little deviously.
"Whatever! Let's just go! The others are probably worried!"
"Because you were worried?"
"I was not!"
There was silence in between the two for a couple of seconds before Mika spoke.
"I'm sorry I took so long."
"…Whatever. I wasn't worried."
The fact that he was denying it so much just served to prove that he was totally worried. Mika felt a little guilty.
"Mika, Yu!"
A girl with a brown braid joined them.
"Oh, good! Everyone was getting-" She started but got distracted. "Mika, you got a camera! That's so awesome!" She bubbled, staring at it.
"Let's take one right now!" She decided.
"What?! Don't we need to get back?!" Yu pointed out to avoid taking a picture.
"Okay, we can do that." Mika smiled.
"Mika!"
"It'll only take a minute."
Mika gently handed her the camera.
"Be careful. It's kinda fragile."
The girl nodded, took the camera and immediately began pointing it at Mika and Yu. Mika playfully hugged Yu from behind, around the neck.
"Hey Mika! Cut it out!" Yu snapped, elbowing him.
Click.
"You guys look!" She smiled, revealing to them the picture. She apparently had taken it at the perfect moment just as Yu elbowed him. Yu immediately frowned, looking to the photo and then to Mika.
"That picture should be destroyed." Yu muttered.
"No way. Don't you know what pictures symbolize, Yu?" Mika smiled. "They symbolize our happy times together."
Yu grew a smidgeon sheepish.
"Would you quit it?! Geez!"
The girl handed Mika the camera and the photo.
"We'd better go. I can't wait to show the others!" She smiled.
"Okay." Mika smiled.
Mika tucked the photo in a safe place; he planned to treasure it.
