This was originally a poem that I wrote last night. I decided to make a story out of it as you can see. It's incredibly short though. And I'm positive it won't make sense to some. You can make your own conclusion. Though in my opinion, what happened int he end is glaringly obvious. It's just that my friends couldn't guess the answer.

Please enjoy.

It was enough.

The time they spent together.

The hours ticked by…

"Come on, Itachi! You're so slow for a so-called prodigy!"

"Time won't run away. So slow down, you're scaring the neighbors."

It was enough.

The trust she entrusted him.

Her crying face…

"Hey..."

"Itachi...why?"

He stayed silent.

"So even you don't have an answer."

"...The night is young and we're alone."

She giggled.

"I bet you don't know how wrong that sounds."

He flushed.

"I-I didn't mean-!"

She sighed.

"I know. Thank you, Itachi. You're really the best friend I will ever have. Thank you..."

Tears ran down.

He pulled her close.

It was enough.

The smiles she sent his way.

Fills his heart…

She was talking with another boy.

Shisui elbowed him.

"Hey Itachi. You're not bothered about that?"

He looked for a moment longer before he shook his head.

"As long as she's happy..."

She looked his way, a smile on her face.

"Hey Itachi! Come with us!"

He smiled.

"As long as she's smiling..."

I'll be invincible.

It was enough.

The laughs he got out of her.

Music to his ears…

She laughed.

"Your dry humor never ceases to amaze me."

He scowled.

"Then why do you laugh?"

She blinked before smiling.

"Well, you want me to laugh, right? Why else would you make a joke, anyway?"

He pinched her cheeks.

"You're so pudgy. Are you sure you're a kunoichi?"

She growled.

"Hey!"

It was enough.

The he could watch over her.

Hiding in the shadows…

She lay on the tatami floor.

"Ugh, so boring! I wish Itachi was here."

He smiled and flicked his wrist.

"Woah!"

She blinked. A scroll sat innocently on the floor.

"What the...?"

She looked around.

"Itachi? You there?"

It was enough.

The feelings she had woken up inside him.

His heart clenched…

He ran to the hospital.

"How is she?"

She giggled.

"Hey Itachi. Why are you so flustered for?"

He decked her.

"You...are unbelievable."

He didn't know what to do.

It was enough…

That he could hold her hand like this.

Why is it so cold…?

She laughed, her voice rasp.

"You're squeezing my hand too hard, idiot. Let go."

He squeezed it harder.

It was enough…

That he could hear her parting words.

No…don't leave…

Her breath became uneven.

"Thank you, Itachi."

He didn't know what she was thanking him for.

"I'm so sorry I didn't try..."

She smiled.

"Don't talk. Just don't talk."

He held back his strength.

"I...really am grateful..."

He ended up crushing her.

It had to be enough…

So why couldn't he let go?

I don't want to be alone…

So this is the end of it. I'm in a journalism club in my school for the extracurricular points. And literature is my field..and feature...and editorial. I'm quite versatile. They place me where they want me in competitions and such.

But my real field is literary. No matter how I suck at it.

Please tell me what you think.
