Cedric Diggory looked over at the alarm clock on the nightstand. 1:06 am, it read. He sighed and got up out of bed, careful not to wake up his wife, Cho.
He walked to his 1 year old daughter Alison's room and opened the door. Cedric took the infant out of her crib and sat in the rocking chair. After a few minutes of rocking in the rocking chair to no avail, Cedric started to sing a lullaby from his childhood.
Hush my child, time for sleep.
Please do not try to weep.
The sooner you sleep,
The sooner the morning sun will peep.
Cedric continued this routine for 5 minutes straight. Finally, the baby went back to sleep. Cedric decided to sit on the rocking chair for a few minutes before heading back to bed. He closed his eyes.
Cho awoke later that morning to discover that her husband wasn't in bed with her. Checking the nursery, she saw a beautiful sight. Cedric was sound asleep in the rocking chair with little Allison in his lap, also asleep. Not wanting to disturb father and daughter, Cho gently closed the door, and went downstairs to prepare breakfast.
