Jayne knew what he liked in women-folk. It also be understood what he needed in a woman. And it is a shame most of that he needed came from Mal.
He knew, intellectual like, that it happened sometimes when the loneliness came between two fellas. But there just wasn't a way in the Verse for that to go down on this boat. And it were for two very important reasons. 1) Jayne couldn't never get so desperate for company to go down that road. 2) He had too great a sense of respect for the captain.
