Author note - Trying to wrap up my little trilogy thing. Original plan was to have an OC for each love interest from my other story 'Let Your Walls Crumble', but not really feeling the OC thing at the moment. Instead I give you some Tsukki x Kags. Confused and adorable. I decided to play around with POV's a little bit. Hopefully it's not to clunky.
Don't own Haikyuu.
x-x-x- Kei POV x-x-x
Kei was not sure exactly how he got to this point. The point of having this particular man curled up beside him in bed. Their lean muscled torsos pressed together. There long legs tangled. Black silky strands caressing his chin. Warm breath accosting his chest. Muscled arm wrapped around him. Long elegant slightly calloused fingers splayed across his pale chest.
Well he kind of knows how it happened, but it was still unbelievable. Going from begrudging teammates. Then to love rivals for the same excessively gorgeous woman. To reluctant friends. To…to this. Whatever this is. He just doesn't know anymore. He knows that Tobio started this whole thing, but he most definitely is the one who took it to this place.
He sighed as he felt the unmistakable feel of drool on his chest. He shivered. Just gross. Just no. He shifted and carefully put the sheet to buffer that disgusting wet feeling. Tobio slept through it all. What a moron. A slightly adorable moron. With a well-toned body and a firm ass… God did he need to stop thinking of Tobio's ass. Who knew thinking about another man could do this to him? He wouldn't have believed it possible.
He let out a frustrated groan and tried to carefully shift his lower half away from the mess of legs. It did not quite work out though when Tobio also shifted his legs and now one muscled thigh was pressed between his long pale legs and touching something that it should not be touching…rubbing against what it should not be rubbing against… Tobio's arm tightened its grip as it moved lower. Kei's stomach muscles contracted. He was so screwed…

x-x-x- Kei POV x-x-x
Last week sucked. This week sucked. When would this stupid feeling leave him alone. When would sitting behind Toka in class stop being so unbelievably torturous. Watching the sunlight hit that pale skin. Watching that dark brown hair shift whenever she moved. How did he let this happen to himself? He should have known better then to let himself fall deeper into the pit of wanting this girl. A girl that was not meant to be his. No matter how much he wanted her. Loved her. She was always so unattainable, but then he had let himself get lost. Let himself get close when she finally let him have a taste of her and oh god what a taste. She had tried to talk to him after she broke it off, but he wasn't ready and told her not to. Not right now. The wound was still too raw.
At least the school year was almost over. At least he had the spring tournament to distract himself from the emptiness that had settled deep inside of his heart. Kei was never one to put a lot of effort into anything, but he started to. Volleyball would be his answer. His salvation. He would get his team to nationals again this year.
Surprisingly now that Toka was back out of the picture, working with Tobio wasn't torturous anymore. They had both lost that battle. Fucking Tetsuro was the one who won that one. Now Tobio was like him. A discarded piece. However, like every other defeat they had suffered, they would pick themselves back up eventually. He didn't really talk about anything with Tobio though. What could he say? It's not like they ever had a good relationship to begin with. Now they just kind of put up with each other again. Tobio would toss. He would hit when necessary. It was that simple.
x-x-x- Tobio POV x-x-x
Fuck. Life fucking sucked. So fucking much. You know what else sucked? Having to sit in a desk next to the prettiest fucking girl in the world. The girl that had dumped his sorry ass because apparently he wasn't good enough. Fucking Oikawa's were the goddamn worst. He should have stopped his relationship with her the moment he found out she was Toru's sister. That would have been the intelligent thing to do, but noooooo, he was a fucking moron.
It was like she had taken her fist shoved it through his ribcage breaking every bone in its path until it clutched his heart firmly. Then it tore the fucker out and jumped on it a couple of times. He didn't think it was possible to feel like this. He was not prepared for it. He guess if he had to compare it to anything, it would be like that first time he was benched in Kitagawa Daiichi. A feeling of raw hopelessness. A feeling of betrayal. Abandonment. He supposes though that it wasn't quite as horrible as being benched during a game, but it was close.
The most shocking feeling though that came to him was sympathy. For fucking Kei! Like what the hell? Where did that come from? The tall blonde had plagued him with sarcastic and salty remarks ever since he met him and here he was feeling sorry for the asshole. Now that was something new.
He was at the grocery market when he saw it. A fucking bag of strawberry shortcake flavored candy. You know what he thought of when he saw it? Fucking Kei. His fucking face with black rimmed glasses. His clearly heartbroken face complete with dark circles under eyes and perpetual frustrated frown. He was walking to the register when he turned on his heel and went back to grab the bag of candy.
The bag of candy that sat in his school bag for 3 days 6 hours and 37 seconds. It's not like he felt comfortable giving the tall blonde a gift. Like what the fuck possessed him to buy this bag of candy? Every time he saw it in his bag it haunted him with images of Kei's sad face. He was thinking about just chucking it out into the trash, but hesitated when he watched Kei walk by. No scratch that. Storm by. His honey colored eyes shining dangerously with unshed tears. Well fuck it he thought. Might as well try to be a decent human being.
That night after practice, he just so happened to skip out on extra practice and just kind of loitered around until most of the team had left. There were still a couple of stragglers, but it was now or never. Especially when Kei slung his bag over his shoulder and walked to the door.
"Tsukishima can I have a moment of your time?" Kageyama asked throwing as much confidence as he could muster behind the words.
Kei turned his honey colored eyes on him and they narrowed in suspicion. "Why? What do you want?"
Tobio willed his cheeks to not blush. He glanced at Yamaguchi who was walking with them. "To talk. Alone."
A delicate golden eyebrow raised in curiosity. Kei shrugged. "Fine. I'll catch up with you later Yamaguchi."
"R-right. Have fun you two" Tadashi said awkwardly and wilted when two sets of eyes glared at him. One honey colored. One sapphire blue. He quickly scurried away…but not too far… curiosity was killing him. He hid behind a corner of one building and peeked back the way he came.
"So…uh… I saw these at the grocery store and they seemed like something you would like… Figure after the shitty time you've been having lately, you might like them…" Tobio mumbled awkwardly and that blush he had been fighting earlier won. It powned his ass.
x-x-x- Kei POV x-x-x
Kei stared at the outstretched hand with candy in it. His mouth gaped and he was just straight up flabbergasted. This was different. How was he supposed to react to this? He reached out and his long fingers grabbed the bag of candy.
"Thanks…I guess" he said as his brows knitted with confusion. He was so stunned that his usually flawless wit was failing him.
"You're welcome…" Tobio mumbled and started walking away.
Kei dropped into step next to him. "Who would have thought that the grumpy king could have such a soft sweet heart? The rest of the peasants might faint with shock." Yep. There's that wonderful witty reply that had failed him moments earlier.
Tobio flushed a deeper shade of red and it passed to his ears. "You're an asshole."
Kei chuckled condescendingly. "Uh uh uh Kageyama. You just showed me your true colors tonight. You can no longer hide the fact that you indeed like me. Maybe a little too much. Are you hoping I'll fall for you? Playing this whole school girl character."
"I fucking hate you" Kageyama growled and walked faster.
Kei watched with sadistic humor as Kageyama practically ran away from him. He doesn't think he has ever seen Tobio so flustered and embarrassed before. It was pretty cute. Wait cute? Where did that come from? He frowned. He didn't mean cute. He meant hilarious and that he is going to tease him mercilessly about this, but not in front of the others. Then they would know that he had accepted a bag of candy from a boy. From Tobio. Nope. No one must ever know about this.
x-x-x- Tadashi and Shoyo POV x-x-x
"Oi Yamaguchi whatcha doing?" Shoyo chirped as he skipped over to the freckle faced man.
Tadashi quickly turned around and shushed the other man frantically. "Quiet. I'm watching." He poked his head around the corner again.
"Watching what?" Shoyo whispered and poked his head around the corner as he crouched beneath Tadashi. His light brown eyes grew. "What are Bakayama and Suckyshima talking about?"
"I don't know. That's why I'm watching."
"Oh! Bakayama just held out a bag of candy…" Shoyo commented quietly.
"And Tsukki accepted it…" Tadashi finished. They glanced at each other quickly and then turned back to see if anything else unfathomable would happen. It didn't and the two peeping men watched the other two walk away bickering softly.
"Did we really just see that?" Shoyo asked softly.
"Y-yeah. This is good though! Maybe they can finally become friends!"
Shoyo burst out laughing and fell to the ground. "You're hilarious Yamaguchi!" He said between giggles. Tears pooled at the corner of his eyes from laughing so hard. "It's going to take a lot more than candy for them to be friends."
"You're right." Tadashi's eyes sparkled mischievously. "Maybe they just need a push in the right direction. Want to help?"
Shoyo's giant grin said it all.
