He knew he kept hurting her every time he was well himself; self-conceited and merciless self. That's why he always tried to walk away from her when he believed she just had enough of him. He didn't want to leave her, but he thought it was for the best. But every single time he tried to walk away from her, she always managed to take off running after him even before his foot stepped off her front porch. It was just who she was and what she did. She became the light for him and it made him want to keep trying… trying better for her. She never gave up on him, even when he was falling apart. She was always quick to forgive him, even when he made a mistake.
She was possibly the reason why he was alive and he didn't think he could live without her. He didn't deserve a damn thing from her, much less her and her love. But she gave it to him anyway, and he couldn't get enough of her.
She was his kryptonite. She gave him more than he could dream possible and she brought him down to his knees with her doe brown eyes. She was just so pure. So innocent in a way that the beast inside him had once thought of destroying that goodness and light. Her heart was gold and so loving, but she chose him to love with that heart. He can't believe any longer that she's still right beside him after all the wretched and horrible things that he has done to her.
He didn't deserve her love at all and he still vehemently believes that. But she still gives him her love and she becomes the first and last thing that he thinks about. So, at least he's trying better to hold onto her and be worthy of the love showered upon him by a dark haired beauty with doe brown eyes.
