Ok, This is my first fan fiction, so if there are mistakes please forgive me. I know I can get a little detailed but I'm trying to make it as realistic as possible.

Chapter One

Harry Potter was no normal boy. The last five years had proven that to him. But like a normal person, he had feelings. And right now, he was giving in to those feelings of pain and suffering. He had lost the only person he felt a true family connection to. Harry couldn't turn to his aunt and uncle (for god knows they don't care if lives or dies.) Luckily, though, he had his two best friends to look to for comfort.

Ron would give him ample distraction from his thoughts of Sirius. They would discuss quidditch or their hatred of Snape, their potions teacher.

But Hermione gave Harry words of comfort that helped sooth his mind. He was so thankful that he had her for a friend, even though they had not started out so well in their first year at Hogwarts. She had been so understanding about what went on between him and Cho Chang last year. Hermione had always been a true friend to Harry, even though rumors of them being romantically attached were always flying around. He had never truly thought of her that way.

But as the summer went on and her words of wisdom helped him further and further away from the pain her felt, Harry's views of her began to change. Hermione had always been there for him even through the toughest times. Why hadn't he seen her this way before?

And that is where we find the famous Harry Potter at this moment, lying on his bed staring at the ceiling, and trying to decipher his thoughts. A soft knocking came from him window. Harry turned his head to see a small owl perched at his windowsill.

"Oh good Pig. I never thought you 'd come back so quickly" Harry said as he pet the owl that was now fluffing its wings with pride. Hedwig, Harry's own owl, gave a hoot of disapproval from her cage as Pig flew over to get a drink of water after Harry had untied the letter.

Dear Harry,

How's your summer been? Muggles treating you ok? Well let me get to the point. Mum said I can invite you to stay with us for the rest of the summer. She talked to Lupin and he said it would be ok even considering the circumstances. There will be new precautions at our house now. Can't say much in case this is intercepted. Hermione is already here and wishes me to say hello for her. You know, I think this is the year Im going to see if there can be anything more between us. You of all people must know what I feel for her. Well, I can talk to you more about this when we come to pick you up on Saturday {A.N.: Today is Wednesday for them} Dad said he can get some company cars to use to pick you up. The ministry has been very nice to him since they finally came out and said that you-know-who is back. Send Pig back with the muggles' response but we'll come and pick you up anyway on Saturday at 3.

Ron

Harry sat there in the dark, reading the part of the letter over again that talked about Hermione. Ron was actually going to give it a try this year?

'This is not good' Harry thought. He hadn't figured out his feelings for Hermione yet but he knew that Ron's newfound confidence was not a good thing. He had to do something but he didn't want to ruin his friendship with Ron. Harry needed to create the master of all plans. It would be best for him to get there and figure out the situation. He'd ask the Dursleys in the morning. Harry lay back in his bed, stared up at the ceiling again, and then drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
