Chapter 1: Empty

She stared out of the window. The street below was dark and silent. All the houses were asleep and the only light came from a dim streetlamp at the end of the hedgerow. Puddles scattered around the tarmac, glistened, reflections bouncing off of them in different directions. The girl's eyes locked onto the night sky. She began to wonder how many people had looked into the velvet blue sky. How many people had observed its darkness and beauty and revealed their secrets to its emptiness.

In her heart she knew that the sky couldn't tell anyone her thoughts. It was incapable of any contact with the world she lived in. But even so...she was afraid. Afraid of what she was feeling and thinking. She couldn't even admit it to herself, so as stupid as it sounded there was no way she could admit it to the sky. And she knew it sounded stupid. But that didn't make it any less scary.

If anyone found out what she thought, what she knew. Well let's just say she'd seen what had happened to kids at her school. Kids who just wanted to be themselves, they'd been taken away by the GaGa police...just because they were different. God knows what had happened to them. She darent even imagine.

But she didn't have to worry about that because what she was thinking was stupid. What she knew couldn't be true. It couldn't be real. What did she want more than the world she and the life she had? She lived in a perfect world, where there was no danger. She was one of the most popular girls at school, one of the highest academic and extra-curricular achievers and she had a fantastic boyfriend. She sighed deeply. There was nothing she wanted more than this. Nothing she needed. Everything she desired

Sorry it's not much but it was as much as I could type up in the time I had.
