Kurt Hummel never really understood Rachel Berry and her dire dependence on the boys in her life. He had seen her heart crushed by Finn, and yet she always came running back. He swore when he saw Rachel, his friend; go through that, he would be independent, that he would never give something as delicate as his heart to some mindless teenage boy. But, in his defence Blaine Anderson was not some mindless teenage boy.

Blaine Anderson was kind, compassionate, understanding, forgiving, patient, courageous and had Kurt's extremely fragile heart in his strong hands, whether he knew it or not. Kurt understood, no matter how much it pained him, that he couldn't tell Blaine, not when he could barely admit it to himself. But Blaine didn't make it easy, all his sweet comments and charming smiles and the boy looked oh-so dapper in his uniform.

He and Blaine had also been spending a lot of time together recently but being roommates, that was bound to happen, not that he was complaining, but Blaine did have his quirks. The boy loved Harry Potter, Katy Perry, Disney Movies and coffee. Blaine had insane love for caffeine and inhaled at least three cups a day. But Kurt wouldn't change a thing about that extremely amazing boy. Every little thing made his love for Blaine that much stronger. Every coffee cup with a note on it, every Disney movie marathon, every Harry Potter quote. The most annoying things were absolutely endearing coming from Blaine. Kurt hit his head lightly off his desk wondering when he had become so disgustingly mushy.

"Um, Kurt? You okay?" The very person in question asked looking up from his homework. Kurt's eyes roamed over Blaine reflexively taking in that one curl that always fell in his eyes which were looking at him with concern buried in their chocolate depths.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm good. Just this..uh..history essay..really frustrating" Kurt stuttered out and was tempted to hit his head off the desk again.

"Are you sure? 'Cause you know you can tell me anything, right?" Blaine's soft voice made Kurt want to tell him everything.

He felt the words forming on his lips and before he realized he started talking, "I love...coffee.. Right now. I'm dying for a cup of coffee..right now. What about you?" he let out a awkward laugh as he berated himself in his head for acting so stupid.

"When am I ever not in the mood for coffee?" Blaine questioned standing up and stretching his arms above his head making a sliver of his toned, tanned stomach available to Kurt's shocked gaze.

"Yummy...coffee. I mean, so yummy" he covered seeing Blaine's confused expression. Kurt stood up following Blaine out the door and to the cafe.

He knew Blaine was talking to him but he was too lost in his own thoughts to really take any notice. He swore to himself walking down the hallway, looking at Blaine's smiling face, that he would tell him one day. One day, Blaine Anderson would know that Kurt Hummel was in love with him.
