Apples and Oranges
"You've got to appreciate the simple pleasures," said the orange-headed squire to her knight-master.
"Like what?"
"Like…an apple on a sunny (and free—but since when does that happen?) afternoon." She held out an apple as if to emphasize her point, and then promptly bit into it.
"Since when do you eat apples?"
"Since this morning. The kitchens have never had this kind before." Munch munch. "I wonder what kind they are. They're irresistible."
"Oh," said another voice as its owner approached. "I asked the cooks that very same thing this morning."
"And?"
"They're called 'Jonathan apples.'"
AN: This was just kind of random. My mom made apple pie with Jonathan apples for Thanksgiving... It was the best damn apple pie she's ever made, which is saying a lot. The coincidence kind of made me laugh.
Cheers!
