Summary: Rashel thinks about what it would be like to tell the world about the Night World. She and Ash argue.

Thinking

Rashel sat on the floor with a book open in front of her. Quinn was stretched out on the couch while Ash and Mare were doing something in the corner. Rashel didn't really care. She yawned.

"Tired?" Quinn asked. Rashel shook her head. "What's wrong?"

"Humans are oblivious to a lot of things," she said, sitting up. "Can they not tell how Night World people are different than them? I mean, look at us. It's pretty obvious." Quinn looked at her like she was insane. "I'm serious!"

"Um...okay...I guess they are stupid," he said. She gave him a look.

"I never said they were stupid, I just said they don't look at what's in front of them very often. Sure, they think we're freaks, but they don't think that when they look at us, do they? No, they don't."

"Rashel's gone off the deep end," Ash muttered. Mare shot him a look. Rashel glared at him.

"I'm just making a point."

"As am I."

"Ash."

"What?"

"Shut. Up," she said, almost growling. He held her gaze before shrugging.

"Just saying."

"And I'm just saying to shut up!" he did and she turned back to Quinn. "What if the entire world knew what we were?" He stared at her. "What if everyone was treated equal?"

"I think it'd be WWII all over again," Mare said quietly. "The Jew's weren't created equal, so why would we be treated equal? Hitler wanted to kill them and torture them just because they were different. Why should we risk our lives?"

"You didn't react that way," Ash pointed out. Mare shrugged.

"Maybe not, but others will. Some will believe it, but others won't. We have to be careful, but live peacefully with them," she said. Rashel sighed. Why was Mare always the peace keeper?

"Someone has to be," Quinn murmured in her ear, causing her to jump. She half smiled at him.

"Okay, so you tell the world? What do you think you'll do when the Night World people find out?" Ash asked, clasping his hands together. Rashel shrugged. Ash raised his eyebrows. "You haven't thought about that? We shouldn't worry about how the humans react, but how the Night World people would."

"I'm not saying I'll actually go and tell the world, it was just a statement," she shot back. He shrugged.

"You should just think before you act," he said. Quinn put his hands on Rashel's shoulders in a warning.

"Maybe you should think before you speak."

"I do."

"Really? Then prove it," she said, standing and walking upstairs. Quinn followed.
"Rashel," he said, taking her hand. She looked up at him. "What was that about?" She shrugged. He sighed. "Talk to me."

"I was just thinking is all," she said. He kissed her hand, but she pulled his lips up to hers. "Just thinking." Then, she kissed him.
